Justin Theroux & Cate Blanchett Visit Mimi O'Donnell After Philip Seymour Hoffman's Death

Justin Theroux is all covered up while exiting his close friend Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s former long-term partner Mimi O’Donnell‘s residence on Monday (February 3) in New York City.

The 42-year-old actor was not the only one to drop by to offer his condolences, Cate Blanchett was also seen making a visit.

In case you didn’t know, Philip was found dead in his bathroom on Sunday (February 2) from an apparent drug overdose.

Philip and Mimi shared three children together – Cooper Alexander,10, Tallulah, 7, and Willa, 5.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Had 50 Bags of Heroin in Apartment

Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away over the weekend due to an apparent drug overdose and now cops say that they found 50 bags of heroin in his New York City apartment, according to TMZ.

The 46-year-old actor was reportedly found dead in his apartment with a syringe in his arm and some heroin bags nearby. Initially reports said that there were 10 bags of heroin, but now it has been discovered that there were five times that. A good amount of the bags were still full along with several unused needles.

Police are currently trying to question the manager of a grocery store where Philip was spotted withdrawing a large amount of cash from an ATM, according to Fox 411.

Adding to the story is the fact that there have been 46 deaths in the Tri-State Area in the past month from a deadly strain of heroin that has been going around.

Jennifer Lawrence Mourns Death of Philip Seymour Hoffman

Jennifer Lawrence and her The Hunger Games co-stars are mourning the death of their castmate Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was just days away from finishing his work as Plutarch Heavensbee before his untimely death this weekend.

“Words cannot convey the devastating loss we are all feeling right now,” the 23-year-old actress said in a statement (via Us Weekly) released alongside director Francis Lawrence, author Suzanne Collins, and others on behalf of the The Hunger Games. “Philip was a wonderful person and an exceptional talent, and our hearts are breaking. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.”

Philip Seymour Hoffman was a singular talent and one of the most gifted actors of our generation,” Lionsgate, the studio behind the movie, said in a statement. “We’re very fortunate that he graced our Hunger Games family. Losing him in his prime is a tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Philip‘s family.”

Philip Seymour Hoffman's Showtime Series 'Happyish' in Limbo

Philip Seymour Hoffman was not just working on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay before his untimely death… he also was set to star in a new Showtime series called Happyish.

The 46-year-old actor was set to star in the 10 episode series, his first regular TV role. The series follows a man’s pursuit of happiness while working for bosses who are half his age.

Showtime released a statement after his death saying, “Philip Seymour Hoffman was one of our generation’s finest and most brilliant actors. He was also a gifted comedic talent. It was a great privilege and pleasure to work with him and we are all absolutely devastated by this sudden loss. Our thoughts go out to his family at this very difficult time.”

A trailer for the series was screened at the 2014 Winter TCA Press Tour last month and got great reviews from the nearly 200 critics in the room, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It is currently unclear if the network will recast the lead role or just pull the plug on the series altogether.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Had 7 Days of Work Left on 'Mockingjay'

Philip Seymour Hoffman was nearly finished working on his role as Plutarch Heavensbee in the two The Hunger Games: Mockingjay films before his untimely and shocking death.

The 46-year-old actor had completed the majority of his work for Mockingjay Part 1 and only had seventh days of filming left to go on Mockingjay Part 2 before his death, according to Deadline.

Philip died of an apparent drug overdose on Sunday (February 2) in New York City and cops say that they found him dead with a syringe in his arm and what was possibly heroin nearby.

Philip‘s unfortunate death will not delay the release date for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and 2, which are scheduled to hit theaters November 21, 2014 and November 20, 2015.
