Luke Evans has confirmed his breakup from Rafael Olarra after rumors were circulating about their relationship.

While speaking with The Times’ Saturday Review, the 41-year-old actor confirmed he and the 42-year-old former footballer split, saying, “It is what it is.”

In the same interview, he spoke about his desire to become a dad, saying, “I thought about it many times and as I get older I’m thinking maybe I should get on and do it. I don’t want to be an old dad… but I would like to be a dad. There’s a lot of satisfaction to passing on your experiences and rearing a strong, open-minded, kind, respectful human being who can go out in the world and do something good.”

Back in October of 2020, fans began speculating that the pair had gone their separate ways after going public with their relationship in February of that year. They unfollowed each other and deleted photos of each other from their pages, prompting speculation. They then refollowed each other the very next day.

On Tuesday (October 27), it was discovered that Luke and Rafa both unfollowed each other on the social media app. Luke also erased nearly every photo of Rafa from his page, though Rafa didn’t seem to delete posts from his account.

Rafa also has left Australia, where he was spending time with Luke for the past three months while the actor filmed the upcoming series Nine Perfect Strangers. He seemingly left for work purposes though, as he shared photos on Instagram showing that he’s back at work at the Faena hotel, where he’s the art director.

On Wednesday (October 28), the guys both refollowed each other on Instagram and they both posted photos on Instagram Stories that looked back at their relationship.

“Good times,” Luke wrote on a photo of them horseback riding on the beach.

Rafa shared a photo of his bedside table, which has a photo of the two of them sitting on it. He wrote, “So far and so close.”

We sure hope they are still a couple as we love seeing them together!

For the past few months, they’ve been in Australia, where Luke is working on the upcoming Hulu limited series Nine Perfect Strangers.

Last month, the guys shared photos from a romantic horseback riding adventure they went on together in Australia.

It appears in the last couple weeks, Rafael has traveled back to the United States to get back to work. He is the art director of Faena, a luxury hotel group with locations in Miami Beach and Buenos Aires.

Luke and Rafael only walked the red carpet together once, which was back in November 2019 at the European premiere of Frozen 2. You can see those photos in the gallery, along with some other candid pics of them.

Luke‘s rep had no comment on the breakup news.

Luke Evans and Josh Gad performed their Beauty and the Beast song “Gaston” during the Disney Family Singalong and they both sounded great!

The guys filmed their performances from their homes while quarantined in separate parts of the country. They were even joined by songwriter Alan Menken, who provided a piano accompaniment.

Luke‘s boyfriend Rafael Olarra was behind the camera at their house and helped film the performance!
