Popular movie star of the 1930s Shirley Temple has died, NBC News reports.
The 85-year-old actress passed away due to natural causes at her California home surrounded by family and caregivers on Tuesday (February 11), publicist Cheryl Kagan confirms.
“We salute her for a life of remarkable achievements as an actor, as a diplomat, and… our beloved mother, grandmother [and] great-grandmother,” Shirley‘s family said in a statement.
In case you didn’t know, between 1935 and 1938, Shirley was America’s top box-office draw, and was credited with saving 20th Century Fox from bankruptcy.
