Yvonne Strahovski and her husband Tim Loden took a trip to the Grand Canyon before welcoming their first child!

The 35-year-old Handmaid’s Tale actress joined a Sierra Club Outing to enjoy the sights but also spread an important message.

“I want my child to be able to explore the wonders of Grand Canyon without the threat of toxic uranium pollution nearby,” Yvonne said in a statement.

She added, “Being out in the wild had a profound impact on my upbringing and helped form who I am today. These majestic places should be protected and accessible to everyone.

There are currently attempts underway to allow dangerous uranium and other mining on the public lands surrounding Grand Canyon and the Sierra Club is working to make permanent protections to keep surrounding communities and waterways from radioactive contamination.

The 35-year-old The Handmaid’s Tale actress and her husband are welcoming their first child together, she confirmed on her Instagram on Friday (May 11).

“I am very excited to finally be able to share my special news – I’m going to be a Mama! ❤️ So very exciting to watch & feel this little Peanut growing every day! ❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote along with a picture showing off her baby bump.

The couple revealed that they were married last year at the 2017 Emmy Awards. Congratulations!

Yvonne Strahovski made a big announcement on the red carpet at the 2017 Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (September 17) in Los Angeles.

The 35-year-old The Handmaid’s Tale actress revealed that she just got married to Tim Loden and she brought her new husband as her date to the show!

“It was hot, but we all made it through. We all did some dancing at the end of the night. It was fantastic,” Tim told E! News about the wedding.

Yvonne revealed the wedding took place in northern California. “We ended up jumping in the lake in our suit and gown just to cool down,” she said. Watch below!
