OlderDepp's Daughter 'Doing Much Better'
Good news for Johnny Depp and family!
Several British tabloids reported yesterday that Johnny Depp‘s 7-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose (inset), had fallen ill and taken to a local hospital in England. Lily-Rose reportedly stepped on a rusty nail at the family’s farmhouse in France and her wound was left untreated.
“Blood poisoning developed. It has now spread through her body and has affected her vital organs,” said InTouch‘s source.
Depp‘s rep, Robin Baum, says that Lily-Rose is “doing much better” and just released the following statement: “We are happy to report that their daughter is doing much better. The family greatly appreciates the continued support and respect of their privacy.”
Johnny, 43, lives with longtime girlfriend French singer-actress Vanessa Paradis. They also have a 5-year-old son named Jack.
Depp has been filming a movie version of the stage musical Sweeney Todd. And a studio rep tells People, “We have adjusted the schedule to accommodate [Depp's] needs at this moment. We understand that [Lily-Rose] is improving. … Obviously everybody at the studio is certainly with them in their good spirits.”

I’m not a parent, but the idea of losing a little one is just too much to fathom. And considering that Johnny lives and breathes for his kids, this must have been a scary time. Mercifully, the same day the illness story broke was the same day as reports about Lily Rose’s recovery. They won’t have to deal with an ET/Insider milkjob.

When I was a kid, I also stepped on a rusty nail at our beach house. I was so scared to tell anybody because I was walking around the area I was not supposed to. My aunt saved my life.

Johnny Depp is terrific, but someone needs to sit him down and teach him about a tetanus shot. Yesterday.

I love Johnny! How on earth are his children platinum blonde though? Johnny’s got jet black hair and Vanessa’s is more like a sandy blonde?!
Lots of children are blond when they are little. As they grow, the hair darkens. Depp doesn’t look too pleased in this pic. He looks a little isolated. Looks like Vanessa is with her family/people. Who knows? She’s a good-looking woman, but she always looks plain and dowdy in her day-to-day life. She needs a little makeup, maybe some Bare Minerals cosmetics or something to bring her out a bit.
Look at Depp and his rock-star style. He’s too cool!

Nine days after Johnny Depp’s 7-year-old daughter was rushed to a London hospital, the cause of Lily-Rose’s mysterious ailment is being pinned on a rusty tack.
According to In Touch, “the wound was left untreated” and “blood poisoning developed. It has now spread through her body and has affected her vital organs.”
While there have been several conflicting reports on the severity of Lily-Rose’s condition, Depp’s reps tell the AP that she is “doing much better.” The actor has reportedly not left Lily-Rose’s bedside since she was admitted to the hospital on February 28.
My son stepped on a rusty nail last year. He was 7 also. I took him to the er(It was at night)The doctor said he did not need a shot because he had to have a shot to get into school.He was fine Lily -Rose went to a L.A school this past year. Kevin Smith said his daughter went to school with her. She had to have a tetanus shot to get into an American school.
PAPABING – no kidding!!! I thought the same thing! And the girl is SEVEN years old, why is someone else carrying her? These kids are so baby-ied.
But most importantly, YEAY for a healthy girl again!
I’m glad she is doing much better and I hope she makes a full recovery. The story about her stepping on a rusty nail has been reported as being false by a source sited by Entertainment Tonight, so we in the public may never know what happened to her, which is okay. The important thing is that she gets better.
In non-important news: I think it is unfair to judge their parenting skills based on a picture. They may not be “baby-ied” because they are being carried at the airport, perhaps there was a good reason for it that you wouldn’t know about from just looking at photograph. Perhaps they wanted to get to the plane quickly so that they could get away from the shutterbugs and it is easier to carry the kids and move quickly than it is to drag them because their little legs can’t keep up.
I imagine having pictures of his family being taken by paparazzi is why he doesn’t look to pleased in the picture. I don’t think he is isolated as much as protective, standing in front of his family.
Secondly, whoever said Johnny has jet black hair is flat out wrong. Naturally, it is dark brown but not naturally jet black. When he was younger his hair was a lot lighter and as a child Vanessa’s hair was very similar in color to Lily Rose’s in the pictures above, so the blonde hair is completely normal.
Those pictures are really old. I remember seeing those pics maybe two years ago.
Vanessa is a french woman, european. We don´t mind walking around without makeup. I love her natural look. She looks great.
Does anybody wonders why EVERYBODY HATES AMERICANS? Is anyone scared? Do you spend your time on stupid blogs not caring about the USA being one of the most hated in the world? I love my country but sometimes it scares me: People are so UNEDUCATED and do care about nothing else but celebrities. So scary…we are going to pay for that one day as a nation :(
Why is he never holding his own kids?
Some of you people really amaze and infuriate me! How on earth could you be thinking about what Vanessa looks like or whether his children have pacifiers or whether they are being carried around an airport to get away from the cameras??? This little girl has been very ill and her parents have been worried out of their minds I’m sure. Finally the little angel is improving! Why isn’t THAT the most important issue to you??? I find it disgusting that people can be so shallow as to talk about “oh thank god they took after Johnny in the looks department”, after all they have been through lately especially!!! I wish nothing but the best to the whole family, they are in my thoughts and I pray that Lily-Rose continues to have a speedy recovery.
