David Cook: Stop Stalking Me!

David Cook: Stop Stalking Me!

In a new blog entry titled “ATTENTION,” American Idol champ David Cook issued a plea for his privacy while on tour. He writes on his MySpace Celebrity:

“First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who has been coming out to the shows since my last post. The vibe at these shows has been amazing.

“Secondly, I have to address some behavior that has become disturbing. We pride ourselves on being accessible to you as fans, but in contrast, we do enjoy what little privacy we can muster. To that end, the efforts by some fans to find our hotel rooms, call our hotel rooms, attach things to our bus, etc., is something I have to condemn. This relationship only works when it remains healthy for both parties, and should this behavior continue, the only thing we can do is take more preventative measures to maintain our privacy, which in turn makes us less accessible to you.

“I hope this doesn’t come off as harsh. I merely want to nip this in the bud so we can continue to have a great experience with all of you at the shows we have coming up. Take care and see you at the next show. ~D

who cares about this guy

Dude! You chose this life and this is what comes with it.
Even though he’s tried to be polite about it, I still think he’s come off sounding like an ass! *Suck it up!*

Wow, I think fame has come too fast to his head. How many fans is he addressing in his little letter here? Like 2. Two people that keep showing up to his shows. And, those two people better listen up cause he wrote this letter to you, ya hear >??

I Agree with #2
It’s stupid because he should know American Idol is the top watched show everywhere.
Especially since he won American Idol, he should know that you have to give up your privacy to be a celebrity, you get the fame, the fortune, and all you give up is your privacy to the fans and media.

I still think that David Archuleta was way better, but I’m glad he didn’t win because all the media might change him into an ass like Cook. Even though Archuleta didn’t win he’s still really famous, probably even just as famous as Cook & he’s still himself, very sweet & very modest.

I think it’s normal for him to feel like that. I love Cook since the Idol days (and always be), and while I know it’s very attempting to stalk him (I think I want, too!! *blink blink*), I hope his fans will give him a lil space :-) Wish him all the best luck!!

Love David Cook @ 03/24/2009 at 9:12 am

I think he is well within his rights to say what he did. He wasn’t nasty about it, all he is asking for is a little a privacy. He gives so much surely he deserves some down time. I think he is amazing & by far my favourite idol ever. Can’t wait for the new single.

I really like this guy. Good for him for speaking up!!

The TITLE of this column REALLY sucked all what is wonderfully written in David’s blog. That’s all I have to say.

He was very polite addressing this issue without calling the cops, crazy fans should go to jail, nobody deserves to loose privacy and beeing stalked beeing famous or not. They are just people.Love him.

Although I like David Cook’s music. I think it’s unfair for the normal fans like me to not be able to meet him. I actually was hoping he would be somewhat accessible to his fans in Atlantic City but he hid with a security guard the entire time. That is one reason why his fans are doing what they are doing because he doesn’t make himself accessible enough to his fans. The hotels should be the ones protecting his identity in the hotels. Also, maybe he is afraid he will get caught banging some chick in the hotel room. Maybe that is his biggest fear. I don’t know what these specific chicks are doing, but Cook should stop whinning and suck it up unless it’s something majorly serious. All celebrities have to give up a degree of privacy it goes with the territory.

At least he addressed this is a positive, mature way. He could have been an ass and call the cops, or stir up some dramatic scene. Come on….hunting down his hotel room? That’s a pathetic, old school groupie tactic. Even though he’s a celebrity, he deserves his space. NO ONE would want random people calling their hotels. If you want to meet some one who you are a fan of, do it in a sensible way.

Just to clarify, I think people are very much missing the point in this blog. David Cook is one of the most humble and gracious artists out there. He spends copious amounts of time with his fans and makes himself accessible to them in meet and greet situations. This is not something every (or most) artists do. The purpose of this blog, in my opinion, was simply to say “look crazies, if you don’t chill, my awesome ability to meet and greet fans will have to stop and I’m going to have to become like every other artist that spends little to no time with fans.”

So try to put this into context before you judge him. That’s all I’m saying. He’s not saying, “oh my God I hate being famous, people need to leave me alone.” David Cook is one of the most humble celebrities out there and I do not foresee that changing anytime soon.

David Cook is a class act. He’s always conducted himself with in a candid and dignified manner. Godspeed, sweet man…

I think that David has taken alot of crazy crap from fans during the AI tour with alot of restraint. Now that the craziness has spilled over onto his solo tour and the members of his band, I think that he is only trying to protect everyone from what could possibly turn into a real tragedy. I think that he has taken the mature and responsible route here.

He’s a pretty good musician. Was it necessary though to address the actions of a few people? Is this a publicity stunt? Is he really in danger or is he just annoyed? If in danger, maybe security can address the issues. If annoyed, then maybe he should just get used to it?

hey- SOME fans ARE crazy! You never know and I agree with him. It’s needed if things get out of control.

Some people just never learn or understand…..they go to the extremes (fans AND papparazzi)

True – he chose this new lifestyle…but, not the kind where it allows crazy people to go to extremes

This man is one of the most humble, loving, appreciative men on the planet and would never do anything to destroy the relationship with his fans. Those of you who do not know him, cut him some slack, your acting like all of the other mean spirited people in the world . Show some tolerance for others for Gods sake, live and let live.

He chose this life…he can’t complain now!

@Terri:
You are not a normal fan when you are running a web site dedicated to invading David Cook’s private life. You are not fooling anyone by posting your link to your site under many different names. What is your problem Holly? You are always posting such negative comments about him and his girlfriends. If you don’t like the guy so much why don’t you find someone you do like to obsess over?

Celebrities do expect to lose a certain amount of privacy and to have fans interested in their lives but there is a big difference between having curiosity about someone and invading their private lives. You have no right to try to find a celebrities hotel room or to follow his tour bus so you can find out about who he is with. It is really sad that a woman of your age would not be able to recognize that there is no excuse for such stalkerish behavior. Too bad you didn’t get to meet David but I guess Karma’s a *****.
