OlderHugh Jackman Butters Up With Jennifer Garner & Alicia Silverstone
Hugh Jackman and Alicia Silverstone have signed on to star in Butter with Jennifer Garner!
The film, which begins shooting in Louisiana later this month, tells the story of a woman trying to win a local butter-carving contest.
Alicia will play the adoptive mother of a teen girl who competes against Jen in the contest, and Hugh will play one of Jen‘s former flames, according to Variety!
Twilight starlet Ashley Greene also recently became attached to the film – she’ll play Jen‘s step-daughter!

This sounds like a corny flick… I’m disappointed in Hugh, since he has SO much talent and he seems to be wasting it…

Butter follows a young orphan who, after being adopted by a Midwestern family, discovers she has an uncanny talent for butter-carving. She eventually finds herself up against the ambitious wife of the retired reigning champion in a town’s annual butter-sculpting contest. The premise is reuniting with an ex-lover, while she praticing for a silly contest.

I STILL think that an “uncanny” talent for butter-carving(!) is a weird premise for a film.

This movie is meant to be a political satire using the butter carving competition as the setting. A sort of take off of the Hilary Clinton and Obama face off, the script and premise is probably too smart for the people that usually visit and comment on this site. But visit the real movie blog sites and they are all over this movie and cast. This is an independant movie, none of these actors are getting paid much to be in it, they read the script and understand the potential of this movie being great. Just wait and see.
The script was rated as 3rd best in the 2008 BLACK LIST – which is the list of unfilmed screenplays voted by Hollywood film execs and producers as best candidates for movie projects.
Hope it turns out to be an excellent political satire and entertaining movie!
I love Hugh Jackman and Alicia, but can’t stand Jen “the horsey” Garner.
She is so fake and would do anything for publicity.
Hugh is getting old and it shows on his face.

@black: That’s stupid. He’s 41 years old and has 2 kids under the age of 10. What do you expect? Besides, his body still looks pretty hot so I don’t care. This picture isn’t even a very good pic of him.

Sounds like the dumbest premise of all time. Even if it is a metaphor for a “more intelligent storyline”, it still is completely uninteresting and idiotic. PASS.

They are filming in Shreveport Louisiana at Centenary College. I go to the school and got to see Jennifer today. It’s a pretty big production.
