Katherine Heigl: 'Her Rejection Almost Broke My Heart'

Katherine Heigl and her hubby Josh Kelley head through LAX Airport to catch a flight out of town on Monday (April 9) in Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old actress recently told the German weekly newspaper, Bild am Sonntag, that she expected the mother-daughter bond between her and 10-month-old adopted daughter Naleigh to be immediate.

“People are always talking about the strong bond between mother and daughter, this magical connection – but we didn’t have that,” Katherine said. “The hardest time in my life. … I fought incredibly hard for my daughter to accept me as mother. Her rejection almost broke my heart.”
