Donna Summer Dies at 63

Donna Summer, the Queen of Disco and 5-time Grammy Award winner, has died after a battle with lung cancer. She was 63.

The singer passed away Thursday morning (May 17) in Florida, TMZ reports. A source said Donna “was trying to keep the extent of her illness under wraps.”

Donna rose to fame in the ’70s with songs such as “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff,” and “Bad Girls.” Her other hits include “She Works Hard for the Money” and “This Time I Know It’s Real.”

She’s survived by her husband, Bruce Sudano, their two kids, and her first daughter from a previous relationship.

Our thoughts go out to Donna‘s family and friends during this difficult time.

Donna was always such a beautiful woman and could she sing, so many memories of all her songs. She said she wanted to be called an Empress as she got older instead of Disco Queen , thank you for the music and memories, Empress Donna. Rest in Peace.

Whether you loved Disco or not she had one of the BEST voices ever! Loved all of her music! RIP MISS SUMMERS.

I was into progressive rock in the 70′s but my guilty pleasures were Abba and Donna Summers…..and yes, I hated disco. This white boy thought and still thinks Donna Summers was beautiful and SO SEXY and obviously very professional. RIP. You were too young.

sorry to hear that.may she rest in peace

Thanks so much for the memories Donna! God Bless your family during this hard time in their lives right now.
