Daniel Day-Lewis & Steven Spielberg: 'Lincoln' Screening!
Daniel Day-Lewis and Steven Spielberg attend a question and answer session at a screening of their new film Lincoln hosted by Time magazine on Thursday (October 25) in New York City.
The 55-year-old actor recently talked to the magazine about the challenges of taking on a role like Abraham Lincoln.
“It didn’t occur to me that it was possible to breathe life into Abraham Lincoln,” Daniel said. “I felt so shy around him.”
“The minute you begin to approach him—and there are vast corridors that have been carved that lead you to an understanding of that man’s life, both through the great riches of his own writing and all the contemporary accounts and biographies—he feels immediately and surprisingly accessible. He draws you closer to him,” he added.
Also pictured at the screening: Oprah Winfrey and screenwriter Tony Kushner.

Ddl great actor! Good to see him again
Is it weird that I find this man hot enough to date and I’m just 21? :p Like, really. He’s sexy.
@XxXxX: Yes. It is weird. But not unheard of in Hollywood….
Great actor. Mostly. Not so much in Nine, which was just embarrassing. But otherwise very interesting to watch. Way too old for that haircut hope it’s for a movie. Seems like a nice guy and I look forward to see the movie.
Daniel is great! Glad to see him back.
I still can’t get over DDL from The Last of the Mohicans. Sexiest character I have ever come across to. ha ha .. I think even My Left Foot character is sexy ! :-))
just give daniel the oscar already!!!
@Maria:

My fav actor working with my least favourite director – not sure how to feel about this project!
i just love this guy!
Daniel Day Lewis is the greatest actor of our generation. Thanks you SO much Jared for featuring this beautiful, beautiful man.
DDL and a chair.
Funniest thing I’ve seen.
See Steven Spielberg gives DDL the Britannia Award on BBC America, this Sunday 7:30PM ET.
Oh, yes!!! I love him in almost any movie that he does.
Gangs of New York, NOT all that much, though.
He started out as a wonderful bully, imo, but ended up as
a sort of crack-pot, in that one movie, and frightend me
thoroughly, as the beast and as the derranged.
My favorite of all of his movie was his character in “The Age
of Innocence.” (I can not spell for sh!ttp!!!) He is just so calm
and so handsome in it. I just swoon when I watch him in it.
He is so totally enjoyable to watch him work his majic,
like Brad Pitt, Deniro, Clint Eastwood, Tom Cruise,
and all of the great ones….especially Meryl Streep and
Angelina Jolie.
Great actor!
