Kate Moss Covers 'Vanity Fair' December 2012

Kate Moss is sultry on the cover of Vanity Fair‘s December 2012 issue, on newsstands on November 6.

Here’s what the 38-year-old model had to share with the magazine:

On anorexia rumors from her early days: “You’d get to work in the morning, there was no food. Nobody took you out for lunch when I started… but I was never anorexic. They knew it wasn’t true — otherwise I wouldn’t able to work. I was thin, but that’s because I was doing shows, working really hard.”

On reported heroine use: “I had never even taken heroin — it was nothing to do with me at all.”

On ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp: “There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said… like if I said, ‘What did I do?,’ he’d tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!”

What does she even mean? Complete air head – she sounds like an incoherent pixie. She’s lived in a bubble her whole life. She knows nothing about anything.

  • W

@Irene: She was young at the time, a teenager.
Do you even know her to call her an airhead?

  • Jess

Liar, liar, Gucci pants on fire…

  • cmac

These quotes do make her sound like a dimwit.

  • DB

Sounds like the breakup with Depp will always haunt her.

Sometimes you don’t realize what you have until you have lost it and can’t get it back.

Feel bad for her on that one. Losing the love of your life must be devastating.

  • tara

Seriously, who believes her that she never took heroin?

  • DB

@Irene: What’s wrong with wanting a partner you can lean on? There are times when I take care of my wife and times she takes care of me. Sometimes I need the extra support, and it helps make my life saner. I don’t feel embarrassed about that. I feel grateful, because some days life can hit you like a truck and it’s hard to find the motivation to move forward in a positive manner. A supporter partner can help you get through those tough times, and get stronger so you can help them when they need it.

I totally sympathize with her on that. Her life seemed to be spinning out of control, and if she had just had Depp by her side, perhaps she could have found the strength through his support to find a way through it all without being “damaged” by it.

Nothing wrong with wrapping your arms around a woman and telling her that everything will be alright and that you will take care of everything. Men have been doing it for centuries. It feels natural to reach out that way to someone you love. Nothing wrong with her wanting that kind of care either, imo.

  • rochelle

She might’nt have done heroin but she certainly didn’t get the name Cokate for nothing LOL!!!!

  • Irene

@W: She’s 38 years old now and definitely an adult and although she’s talking about the past she’s making these comments as a 38 year old woman. These comments sound very immature and out of touch with reality. I’m 25 and I would never express myself in a similar way.

  • Irene

@DB: Okay. First of all you are reading waaay too much into my statement. Second of all, isn’t it possible to have a supportive and loving relationship without being totally dependent upon the other person? Everyone has responsibility for their own lives, in the end of the day. I’m not looking for someone to take care of me, just someone who cares about me. There’s a major difference.

  • Irene

@W: Of course I don’t know her personally but none of us know any of the people who are posted here so we’re not allowed to comment on them? In that case the whole internet should be shut down if you’re not allowed to comment on strangers and their choice of words or clothing or whatever. And also, if you don’t know her then why are you defending her? What do you care?
    She is not a victim.

  • TC

It’s funny to think her heroin comment is meant to suggest she didn’t do drugs at all when the opposite is true. Her drug of choice was always cocaine. She’s been known as “Cocaine Kate” for years.
And It’s too bad she lost that balance she needed with Depp. She never really seemed to bounce back since him. Although she seems pretty well-adjusted now. But who really knows what happens behind closed doors.

  • Anna

@DB: Wow! The most beautiful comment I have read on this site.

  • ladyb

And that’s what I missed when I left…..Meaning she dumped him?? Wow, who would dump Johnny Depp? I won’t.

  • ladyb

DB…I believe she’s happily married. I doubt she is still haunted. But her comment is strange considering she is married.

  • Anna

@Irene: Your comment and the fact that you didn’t understand what she means actually show that you still have a lot to live and feel in your life, that you know nothing about anything, especially about strong feelings.
Being 38, 48, 58 … doesn’t imply becoming dull and too pragmatic. My grandfather spent the last years of his life whining about a big love he lost when he was 29. He died at the age of 82… talking about her.
I find her comments truly felt, real and beautiful. You’re 25? Maybe you should try to live your life more fully. Living situations which make us feel childish regardless of our age can be a lot fun and very rewarding.

  • Fer

A true icon… All these other ‘top models’ are nothing compared to her.

  • DB

@ladyb: Sometimes you don’t end up marrying your greatest love. Perhaps that is the case here. She can be in love and happily married, but still have regrets at losing the best thing she ever had. Sometimes, to be frank, people end up settling. It may be sort of sad, but hey, “If you can’t be with the one you love, Honey, love the one you’re with…” :)

  • Lolita

    She sounds dumb.

  • Sweetness

oh the woes and sorrows of the rich, famous and models. seriously do they realize when they speak how completely devoid of the real world with real problems they are?

  • LooseLipz

Never saw the mass appeal of Kate. I assisted a Fashion shoot in LA with her as the model. She was under 5.6, but that was neither here nor there..she was pleasant and professional, but just didn’t look so beautiful in person..
She is and was a moden day Twiggy, which was the trend then, but not so much now.
Furthermore, her style is walkways touted as so innovative and chic.
I don’t get it. She’s always wearing black skinny pants and worn out boots.

  • LooseLipz

    “Always”. Sorry for the typo

  • Irene

She sounds like she has no will of her own. She needs other people’s permission to eat lunch, she needs Johnny Depp to tell her off when she’s been misbehaving. And at 38 this is still the way she sees the world. She’s a lost little puppy that needs taking care of. Awww…poor little thing. After years of cocaine addiction and with a young child. Addiction really does stop you from maturing emotionally. She sounds like a 14 year old. Who do you think you are, Mariah Carey?

  • Jess

  • TheDudeAbides

Note to JD; Stop hanging out with gays, and start taking care of your wives.

  • Gasp

Sometimes celebrities like to drop a few old name and sensationalise old stories to get an interview really noticed. Seriously, who’d read about Kate Moss otherwise? She posed for photographs and strutted on the catwalk. There’s nothing much going on otherwise.

  • wren

Whacked then and now….you need a partner to tell you “What did I do?’ sigh….women who don’t take responsibility for what they do. She is lucky she had a look that supported her. If she was ordinary lookin’ she’d be a statistic.
