Scarlett Johansson: Directorial Debut with 'Summer Crossing'!

Scarlett Johansson is set to make her directorial debut with Summer Crossing, an adaptation of Truman Capote‘s novel of the same name, according to Deadline.

Here’s a synopsis of the flick: a 17-year-old debutant opts out of her parents’ Parisian travels to foster a romance with a Jewish valet parking attendant in the middle of a 1945 summer NYC heat wave.

“Several years ago I began working alongside the Capote estate and writer Tristine Skylar to adapt Summer Crossing, an inspired early work of Truman’s which has long captured my heart,” the 28-year-old actress said in a statement. “Being able to bring this story to the screen as my full length directorial debut is a life dream and deep privilege.”

Parisian vacation in the summer of 1945? LOL!

I don’t think so. Highly unlikely.

Didn’t mean to sound down on Scarlett – it was the premise that threw me. I like her a lot and wish her well with her new directing work. Wonderful to see more women stepping behind the camera – Scarlett is smart and I think she’ll handle this well.

No. I smell publicity stunt. She’s probably gonna but her it. Just because you think you’re a good actress, doesn’t mean you’re ready for directing. I’d reccomend not doing this.
