Zachary Levi to Make Broadway Debut in 'First Date' Musical!

Zachary Levi is set to make his Broadway debut in the upcoming original musical First Date!

The 32-year-old Chuck actor will star opposite Smash actress Krysta Rodriguez in the show, which begins preview performances on July 9 and officially opens on August 8.

Here’s the synopsis: When tightly wound Aaron (Levi) is set up with serial-dater Casey (Rodriguez) a quick drink at a busy New York restaurant turns into a hilarious, high-stakes dinner. As the date unfolds in real time, the couple quickly finds they are not alone on this date as Casey and Aaron’s inner critics take on a life of their own when other restaurant patrons and the wait staff get into the act. Dinner is served with sides of Google background checks, fake emergency phone calls, supportive best friends, manipulative exes and protective parents, who sing and dance them through ice-breakers, appetizers and potential conversational land mines.

Zachary had previous singing experience in his animated film Tangled!

Zac has a great singing voice and great comedic timing. I hope this is a great success for him! I miss him on my TV though. Wish I could make it to broadway to see this!

Yes I agree! I miss him on Chuck, but I think he did great in Tangled and hopefully this goes well too!
