Naya Rivera on Cory Monteith's Death: My Heart Goes Out to Lea Michele

Naya Rivera has released a statement on the death of her friend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith.

“The entire Glee family and I are deeply saddened by this tragedy,” the 26-year-old actress said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Cory was and always will be a part of my own family and a good friend. He was a special part of this world and will forever be missed. My heart goes out to Cory‘s family and Lea [Michele] and while we are grateful for everyone’s well wishes, privacy during this time of grief is greatly appreciated.”

Naya and Cory grew close after being the two cast members to participate in many fan meet and greets at AT&T stores along their 2011 concert tour. The pair also hosted the 2012 GLAAD Media Awards together in New York City.
