@WTF: That’s only if the person is real Juliet wasn’t a real person she is and character, if the character is based off a real person than I would see your point.

  • Meena

Nepotism? You mean like Lily Collins, Emma Roberts, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, Ireland Baldwin, Kelly Osbourne, Kate Hudson, etc., etc.? Is it only a problem when it is black nepotism or is it nepotism in general that bothers some of you?

  • Sarah

    I think she’s cute, he’s gorgeous.

  • YES!

I can’t wait to see this!!!

  • http://justjared BS

    @WTF:
WTF are you bitchin’ about? This play has been performed countless times by people of different races, ages, and religions. Where the f*** have you been?

  • Elena

Today on Keeping Up With The Kerrdashians: In an embarrassingly desperate attempt to remain relevant beyond tabloid mentions and paparazzi pictures with Miranda Kerrdashian, Orlando Kerrdashain takes on a role that he not only hasn’t anywhere near the talent for but is almost two entire decades too old for. Will he fall flat on his bloated, old desperate face? The Magic Eight Ball says, “Most definitely yes!”

  • A

Yay! She’s beautiful! Look forward to see it!!!

  • nina

She’s gorgeous! Too bad she has to work with the world’s worst actor. This play is going to flop and that makes me feel bad for her.

  • Devynn

@WTF: She was also a 14 year old…Do you have a problem with that or just her race?

  • Oh, dear…

David Leveaux is about to commit career suicide a la Cameron Crowe. Once you epically fail with Mr. Bloom, there is no going back. Poor Condola doesn’t deserve this.

  • @16

Only an idiot like you could think that performing Shakespeare on Broadway is a bad thing.
A lot of people have asked the question ‘how stupid are you’? Well, I think that you just gave us your answer.

  • YAY!

    SOCKPUPPETS!!!!!
    I LOVE SOCKPUPPETS!!!!

  • Elena

@20 Performing on Broadway is a great idea. For actors who have talent. For those who don’t, like Orlando, it’s a bad, bad thing. Only an idiot would think that he has what it takes for that role (forget about the fact that he is almost TWO DECADES too old). How stupid are you? Stupid enough to think that Orlando can be Romeo on Broadway, that’s how stupid. And that is pretty dang stupid. And then some.

  • @elena

Uhm, Romeo has been played by men of all ages. Stop being so literal.
And Orlando has received lots of positive feedback from critics. And the last time he was on stage he received praise from the usually brutal West End critics. When he performed Romeo with Dudamel, critics said that he was one of the highlights of the evening.
Claiming that he is a horrible actor reveals your ridiculous bias. He wouldn’t have landed the part if he wasn’t good. How stupid do you have to be to not understand something so simple?

  • ha

Wow. This Elena troll sure is obsessed with Miranda and Orlando.
Must not have much of a life, eh?

  • Callie-ho

The haters must live in a very strange world. Everything in their land is backwards.
Having an expanding business and appearing on the cover of HF magazines means that you are a failure.
And now starring on Broadway is a bad thing.
I don’t think that I will ever understand how anyone can be do irrational and hateful.

  • Dee

Nope! Elena is a pathetic basement dweller I am afraid. If she actually ever got out of that basement she would know that Orlando got rave reviews for the play In Celebration, and has gotten very good reviews in recent film roles as well, and that her basement dwelling opinions just do not matter to anybody. She is a sad case.

@WTH- you clearly have comprehension problems don’t you dear? This is an INTERRACIAL take of Romeo & Juliet. idiot.

  • So typical….

The Daily Mail is up to its old tricks again with a headline “don’t look now Miranda” already trying to start rumours.

They have carefully selected the photos & neglected to say that Orlando arrived on his bike & that it was part of “photo call” for the play.

And of course the Delphidiots are posting on there with their usual nasty comments about Miranda.

Hope the play does well & it’s received well by the critics!

  • Anon

Does anyone know how many motorbikes does he own? He must own a lot if he is always seen on a different one. Am excited to see Romeo and Juliet on Broadway.

  • @24

Romeo has never been played by a forty year old before because that is just ridiculous. He got tepid reviews on The West End because he took a safe part and not the lead because he knew he would embarrass himself (something he actually flat out said in an interview). This production is going to be a hot mess because he simply does not have the chops. How stupid do you have to be to not see that if he was going to happen as a serious actor, he would have happened by now. It really is simple. And so are you.

  • @30

Forty? Since when is 36, 40? And a young looking 36 at that.
He got great reviews on the West End for taking a very emotiional role. A role that required him to cry every performance. A much more complex character than the actual lead male, who was more physically outging than emotionally damaged, like Orlando’s character.
And he proved that he had the chops when he performed Romeo with Dudamel. But I guess that ignorance is bliss in your case, right? Why let facts get in your way when you have an irrational hatred for a total stranger.
BTW, Leslie howard was 43 when he played Romeo to Norma Shearer’s Juliet (she was 34, btw). Funny that you didn’t know about this, because it’s known as one of the most famous, and most beautiful versions of the story. But again, why lets facts get in your way, right?
Simple is as simple does, I guess.

  • Dee

R-30 you too need some reading comprehension skills don’t you dear? What part of Interracial take on the play do you not understand? Maybe you should come out of that dank old basement every now and then, the fresh air may help clear that damaged brain of yours. Tootles.

  • E.

Oh goodness….waaay too old, Mr. Bloom. Look at those pictures!!!!
Was there no possibility to give a new young talented actor a chance on Broadway? Why is it just aging Hollywoodstars getting the roles, roles they do not represent well?
Thank you “Game of Thrones” that you casted a bunch of new actors/actresses right from college. New faces, new talents!!!
Orlando Bloom should find himself roles that are good for him and not shameful. Like a family father, that is believable with 36.
I will definately not see the show, just for NOT supporting such a bad casting.
No offence to Juliet, she looks cute and I bet she is a good actress doing a good job.
I think they just casted Bloom for the name. But the “pirate” times are over…

  • Tammy

DAAAAMMMNNN! She is just too big. And his career is over if he is doing this. Where are the real actresses out there???? Shakespeare is rolling in his grave!

  • Callie-ho

You can always tell when the the hater idiots have gotten desperate. When they start calling a young woman as besutiful as Condola ‘fat’.
    Pathetic losers.

  • Just sayin’

He has no chemistry with women so how is he supposed to pull off “the greatest love story every told”? And to the person who said he is a “young looking” 36…you are the most delusional fan girl I have ever met/ I know you want to desperately cling to the idea that he is still that teen heartthrob in your Tiger Beat magazine but he is not. He hasn’t aged well and it will only go downhill from here.

  • @just lyin’

What? The love scenes between Balian and the Queen in KOH were sizzling. As were the kissing scenes between him and Kirsten in E-town. You must be one of the last remaining tin hats to be in such a state of denial.
And you have it backwards about aging. The only people who don’t think that he is aging well are the haters who still expect him to look like the 22 year old he was while filming Legolas. People who have a better grasp on reality can see how great he is aging. How else can you explain how other actors who are several years younger than him, actually look older? Luke Evans, for example has been described as looking like Orlando’s older brother. So how can Orlando look old for 36 and still look younger than a guy four years his junior?
Poor haters. Delusional, sad, hateful and lonely. What an awful way to go through life.

  • He’s so hot!

He no longer looks like a “teen heart-throb” but that does NOT make him old or ugly. Did you expect him to not age? He still looks attractive to me but in a more mature way. Nothing wrong with that. Still much younger than Leslie Howard and many, many other stage actors that have played Romeo over the years. I would rather watch an actor with experience play Romeo. I have no idea how he will do as Romeo but I am excited for him and think it is brave of him to put himself out there considering this kind of criticism has followed him throughout his career. As far as chemistry with women goes, rent Kingdom of Heaven Director’s Cut or Ned Kelly. He’s got it, I promise you.

  • Hmm

Funny, but it seems like the only place on the web claiming that Orlando ‘looks 40′ are the idiot hags on Delphi.
Everywhere else people comment about how hard it is to believe that he is 36. One recent response on ONTD made me giggle. They joked that he must “bathe in the blood of virgins”. lol
So anytime, or anywhere we see comments about him not aging well, we will know that it is just another delphidiot sockpuppet.
    Hilarious.

  • L.

There is something ‘off’ about Orlando’s looks now. Although his face still has the ‘soft’ (chubby?) look of youth, he’s gotten quite jowly and shows signs of aging around his eyes. What passed for ‘cute’ as a teen/early 20′s just doesn’t come off that well with maturity. I agree that he’s not aged as well as say, Johnny Depp did, or even Brad Pitt. Johnny’s in his 50′s and only recently has started to show some of those inevitable signs that come with the aging process. I thought Orlando would age slowly, like Johnny. But he really hasn’t.

  • @40

Do you even know what “jowly” means? If you did, you would not be claiming that Brad Pitt is aging well. While Orlando’s jaw is still strong and firm, Brad’s has gotten quite fleshy. Brad is the poster child for “jowly”.
And of course he is showing aging around the eyes. He isn’t 25 any more.
You guys that expect him to still look like Legolas are being ridiculous. If you would open your eyes, you would see how young he looks for a 36 year old. Just ask Tom Hiddleston or Luke Evans how well they think that he is aging.

  • @37

Eva Greene admitted that she had to get drunk before the sex scenes in order to fake the chemistry. As far as Elizabethtown is concern…if you saw chemistry there…you are the delusional one. Beyond help.

  • @42

Funny, but Eva always talked about what a good kisser he is. Sounds like she enjoyed it. So that makes you a liar.
    Again

  • @42

Nah, it just means that you have a very selective memory when it comes to seeing things the way you want them to be. She said in an interview that she drank before the love scenes and tried to entice him to do the same because she was worried the scenes would be..lackluster. Here’s the thing about you militant fangirls…you’re all clinging to this idea that Bloom is a viable actor…and that’s just dumb.

  • @44

Lackluster? Maybe she thought that he was shy. Especially since it was his first real love scene.
But did you see the director’s cut? That scene was amazingly hot. I think the one with the vision problems is you. And again, she said that he was a very good kisser. Seems that she didn’t have any problem with chemistry at all.
And I’m sorry, but when it comes to Orlando’s talent, I’m going to go with the opinions of someone like Ridley Scott, over those of a bitter hater.
You see nothing that you don’t want to see. And the truth is your enemy.

  • @45

That wasn’t his first ‘real’ love scene. He had one in TROY with Diane Kruger and that one was laughable even while it was supposed to be so passionate. He’s just too blah to create any sparks.

  • @46

Kissing and standing beside a bed is not a love scene. If you saw the director’s cut from KOH, you would have seen much more. Have you even seen that cut of the film? Or are you just happy in your ignorance?
And to each his own. I thought that the scene in Troy was cringe-worthy because of the idiotic lines that they had to deliver, not because of any chemistry issues. And the scene with Eva was great. I thought that they sizzled together. And my opinion is just as valid as yours.

  • @42/44

So you went from claiming that Eva said that she drsnk because she was afraid of the lack of chemistry to claiming that she drank because she was afraid that it would be lackluster. Either way it was unnecessary because that scene was very sexy.
Do you have a link to that interview do that we could judge for ourselves?

  • E.

Guys and Ladies…don’t want to interrupt you with discussing Orlandos former love scenes…
For the role of Romeo he is simply too old. Bad casting choice.
If he was not Orlando Bloom and just some actor who had to audition for that role, he would not have lasted for 2 words.
He does not look ugly, but I can see his smoking habits. He used to look great in Pirates and Kingdom, but those times are over, which is natural. He is not the type of men that looks better the older he gets.
And he does not need to be. But: he should make better choices with his roles and accept that he is no hunk any more, but a father in his mid 30s.
Gosh..The world has sooo many new handsome good actors. Give them a chance too. Please!

  • @49

They evidently wanted Orlando, and no one but Orlando. As you said, there are many young actors out there if that is what they wanted.
I see that you aren’t complaining about Condola’s age. By your standards, she is also too old to play Juliet.
Romeo and Juliet have been played by actors of all ages and ethnicities. The story is about conflict, not their ages.
And btw, judging from the reaction that the Vogue article is getting…he’s still a hunk. And imo, he’s aging beautifully, and he looks much younger than 36.
