Miranda Kerr Talks Being Happy After Orlando Bloom Split

Miranda Kerr shows off her rockin’ abs and amazing body on the cover of Self magazine’s December 2013 issue.

Here’s what the 30-year-old model had to share in her first magazine interview since splitting with Orlando Bloom:

On being happy: “If I’m having a challenging moment, I jump for joy. Literally. After a minute, I feel better, and after a few minutes, I’m really happy. Everything else just drops off. It gets me out of my head and into my body, and it makes me feel present. Everyone has challenges. But if you know your strengths and expand on them, you’re going to radiate. Happiness is a choice we make. You can wake up and say, ‘Oh, I can’t believe it’s so cold,’ or you can say, ‘Oh, wow, this is a great opportunity for me to try out my new sweater.’ No one can be consistently positive, but why not make the choice that makes you feel better rather than the one that drags you down?”

On her mantra: “One mantra I like: ‘I am a being of light and love, and I radiate that to everyone I meet.’ It helps me keep things joyful.”

On indulging: “When you indulge, enjoy every minute of it, because that’s the whole point! If you’re like, ‘Oh, I can’t have this, but I’m going to eat it anyway,’ how can you ever feel satisfied? Savor it and you won’t feel like you want more.”

Urgh! She would do my head in if I had to hear her spout that rubbish 24/7!

  • Dollar

She relates happiness with clothes. How empty your life is. Talk about your child who gives you the happiness you need. When you recover so fast from love and with a kid in common it only means one thing: your love was a contract so you don’t really loved each other. That’s Hollywood today.

  • Marta

    so boring, blah blah

  • Cla

Of course it’s easey to be happy when you have her life…

  • phoney

@Cla: It’s easy to be happy when you are a b*tch like her lol

  • Jess

omg she sounds like a compete psycho …

  • ~

What a silly woman! Just shut up , please, please, please…

  • cries

I can’t stand herrr!!!!! Don’t read her please!!!

  • Nikki

Wow.. people are hating for no reason! She sounds like a completely normal woman. All she’s talking about here is her positive outlook and her mindset. Leave her the hell alone.

  • constant

I really tried to like her, but she comes across as such a terrible airhead. In TV interviews I’ve seen, and here again.

  • Amy

Well I see a lot of people here are negative; that’s sad. Try some meditation.

  • Kim

For those who are not aware, Miranda practise Buddhism hence her attitude to try and turn every challenge into something positive.
She isn’t relating happiness to clothes. She is giving a very simple example of how to turn a ‘complaint’ attitude of a positive one.
Next time someone complains how cold it is outside, just say/think: Great day to wear my new scarf!
It is about finding simple easy ways to not see something as a challenge but rather as an opportunity.

  • Mandy

Wow people here are so mean, even calling her a b*tch. Why? She wasnt saying anything mean. She explained how she tries to see the good things in life. Whats wrong with you all? You all act like a bunch of cyber bullies, saying mean things about her without a valid reason.

  • shamrock

We tend to have a lot of cynics in the world and they need to change that energy into more optimism. That is clearly what Miranda is stating in this article. Attempt to make the challenges in life a positive or provide that to others around you that may need some joy, uplifting, love, etc…
Try it and see how you feel, and others around you feel.

She is a beauty inside and out, and BELIEVE in optimism for better things to come.

  • Mary

What she said about happiness, to me sounds like she’s saying she found her happiness when she split from Orlando Bloom. I mean the guy still talks about her with such grace and look what she says. I tried to like her, but I don’t know. I can’t find the appeal about her.

This is an example of people such as yourself, trying to bring others down by knocking, belittling, and making comments about a person in a negative way.

I’m a realistic person, but I do attempt to see the positive in life and the world, more then the negative. No DARK PLACE here, it’s all good.

Stop Cyber bullying as you will be found!! There is no hiding places for people like you that hide behind their computers attacking anonymous people for no reason.

  • Hmmm

That’s funny. I didn’t realize that there were still tin-hats around.
You would think that any rational person would have given up the ‘Orlando is gay! I don’t care if every scrap of evidence proves that he’s straight, he’s gay, I tell you!!!!!!!!!!!”, a long time ago.
Pretty pathetic that they still live in their own little fantsay world.

  • Yawn

I agree she’s not the brightest but she’s probably trying her best. Her world is just so superficial…

  • Dee

I agree with the haters on one thing, she really does come across as a self important Bimbo. I would never go the the extent they go to in cyber stalking her, but when I read her comments, I wince at the stupidity behind it.

    perfect woman

Today on Keeping Up With The Kerrdashians: Miranda Kerrdashians find yet another way to sound like a condescending, judgmental b**ch. Happiness is a choice we make. All you have to do is choose to be happy. If you suffer from chronic depression you are obviously to blame because you are not choosing to be happy. Years of therapy and medication and all you had to do was make better choices. Just listen to this vapid model when she says that she is better than you because she makes better choices. You suck and she is perfect so just be like her and jump up and down and choose to be happy and who said anything about chemical disorders? It’s a choice! You are a terrible person because you don’t choose to be happy like this person who lives and uber privileged life and has tons of money and is famous and if she can chose o be happy than so can you. Loser. Someone needs to shut this obnoxious diva up.

  • Piiia

@Elena: Wow, she really hit the nerve with you, didn’t she? As a person who suffers from chronic depression I don’t see what is so offensive about her remark. Trying to see something positive in my life has so far kept me alive.

  • @26

Oh, just ignore that idiotic troll. She’s just a loser who is mad at the world and so broken that she thinks that it is funny to insult toddlers.
She needs help. And I only wish that I was kidding about that.

  • jmk

I don’t think she REALLY cares what you haters think. She has a great life, she doesn’t have to worry if she is going to have enough money for the next month…and all this “silly” things normal people do.

  • IZZY

The females here are mean because they are JEALOUS! Everything the beautiful young lady is saying makes perfect sense. I’m just sorry that so many girls are threatened by a more beautiful woman that they cannot begin to digest great advice. AMEN MIRANDA KERR! Don’t even worry your pretty little head about the stupid girls growing up nowadays. Half of them are pretty disgusting. They can’t even find a man who wants to marry them. Somehow, I think Miranda is one of those women who has strong conviction and principles. She’s not careless nor clueless. She knows exactly what she’s doing… and she’s doing it well!

  • IZZY

@Dee: Again, her words are not stupid. I’m older and secure, so I don’t get bothered by stuff like this. I praise any woman with wisdom. The world desperately needs more females who have wisdom and their thinking in order. I listen to what Kerr is actually saying. If one of your “idols” said it, you’d probably be lapping it up. Because it’s beautiful Miranda Kerr, somehow it’s stupid. You’re NOT very smart if you can’t see that.

  • Dee

    @ Izzy
Give me a break! I have actually defended Miranda before, I am not a hater, nor am I a Fan girl like yourself either, I think she is very very pretty, and she seems nice enough, obviously loves her adorable son, but reading her comments, and seeing her in interviews, I simply do not think she is the brightest bulb in the chandelier, so what? It does not mean I hate her. I am sorry but the jump for joy, & you will feel better comment is just ludicrous IMO. BTW, if you think wisdom can found from the mouth of a super model or any celeb for that matter, you are not the brightest bulb either.
