Tom Cruise & Emily Blunt: 'Edge of Tomorrow' Trailer!

Check out Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt in the first official trailer for their new film Edge of Tomorrow.

Here is the official synopsis: The movie unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Edge of Tomorrow hits theaters on June 6, 2014.

    Meanwhile, back in NYC the Katie and Suri dog and pony show carries on for another season of watching them walk in and out of apartments.
    LOOL!

    Rocky Says:

    God, another SciFi movie with Tom. He showed such potential in 4th of July and Collateral. Oh well.

    @meanwhile:

    Are you dissing on Katie & Suri? Not their fault Papps live in wait for them. It’s not like she’s calling them to show up like the Kardas sh***.

    lol @yummy. i clicked the post ’cause of exactly that. i’d rather say he’s starting to look old. but he’s not the only old schooler in hollywood that is hit by age.

    Emily Says:

    So basically what we have is a combination of Groundhog Day and any other generic aliens invade the earth movie, only this time we’re treated to the consistently bland and unconvincing Tom Cruise running and staring, as he does in every other of his recent movies. Yay. I remember the days when Cruise actually acted back in the 80′s-early 90′s, in movies like Born on the 4th of July, Rainman and The Color of Money. I guess those were before he became a hyper-religious, fundamentalist scieno nutcase who can no longer conjure up anything that resembles real emotion on screen. Sorry but when I see him on screen, all I see is the ranting and raving idiiot from the Today Show and that video from scientology, rather than an actual character. I’ll pass. Besides, he’ll just give the money he earns from this to a scary, damaging cult. No thanks. Not my money.

    @rocky, yes I am dissing her. she makes me laugh. Sometimes she is followed but I think its true that she sometimes calls them.
    If you don’t want your kids papped every day there are ways around it.

    There are more A-list stars in NY (and she is not a-list) who have kids that they can keep out of press.

    what about the rumor that she moved so she can have underground parking? Maybe she should use it more. But if she wanted to resolve the issue she could. Its not that hard.

    @Emily Says:

    I am sure he will be very sad to know he can’t count on your 12 bucks. LOL.
    Tom is doing just fine without it.

    Maybe you should watch a Katie flick but you will have to rent them since they won’t be in the theaters or at least not long.

    COPY AND PASTE FROM OTHER THREAD:

    btw – so many rumors out there that are pure bs. Below is a video and if you watch to the end you see nic with the kids even in teen years and they are very warm all of them. People love to make up stories. She had a fine relationship with them and still does.
    I don’t care what some ex cos person said- they have agenda too. I think its a cult so not defending it just saying the rumor of nic without kids is not true.

    @meanwhile:
    Most of the photos of Katie and Suri are not taken outside their apartment. They”re taken at Suri’ school. The paps weight outside to get photos of her dropping her off and picking her up. So even if her building has a garage, they’ll still be photographed. At least Katie is a devoted mother who is with her child almost everyday. Even when filming overseas, she flew back and forth 17 hour flights so that she was never away from her daughter for more than a few days. Meanwhile, Tom goes months without seeing her.
    I’ve said it before, but I still don’t get why TC fans constantly bring Katie up. They insist that he’s the biggest star in the world; she wasn’t good enough for him etc. So why bring her up in a post that has nothing to do with her? Why not just enjoy his films?

    Tom Cruise was the wrong choice for this

    Emily Says:

    @ #8 and @ Mighty Max

    Cruise has lost a tremendous number of fans in the US, UK and other English speaking countries. My $20 bucks may not account for much, but then again, I’m not alone. Feel free to support a dangerous cult if that floats your boat. I’m not interested in doing that. By the way, just because I don’t find Cruise to be much of an actor and I don’t like the fact that he supports a dangerous, destructive, abusive cult does NOT mean I’m a fan of that half-wit he contracted with to have a child. So childish to ASSume one has to be on one side or the other. Both are not my cup of tea.

    Mighty Max, is that the very best you can do? One would think that if you’re going to waste the time to post, you’d atleast come up with something that somewhat resembles an intelligent sentence. It’s pretty clear you won’t be invited to the next MENSA meeting.

  17. 17
    @Emily Says:

    under your logic we shouldn’t support any actor that is a catholic either since there are so many priest who have molested kids and continue to do so unpunished.

    Liz Says:

    Tom Cruise always makes the same movie and the same character every year, they just change the name!
    Maybe when he starts to make something different and go back to act, I’ll watch his movies.

    anne Says:

    @Emily:

    I agree with you.
    Tom Cruise makes a film after another. Not dedicated to family.
    He has plenty of money, should give pause. perhaps that is why their “marriages” end after 05, 10 years. LOL.B and C were raised by his mother and sister. Thank God that Suri has a mother who fought for her.
    Maybe I watch this movie.

    Yawn Says:

    Watchable. He picks great action scripts! As long as most of the world knows scientology is a cult, I have no problems with Cruise’s personal life.

    @ meanwhile. Ha ha that’s funny. Lighten up people. True, true.

    Fact vs Fiction Says:

    Trailer looks promising – Looking forward to seeing it in IMAX.

    SCI-FI usually has some time travel, parallel universe, technology and aliens aspect to it, so any or all of that is to be expected for this film which is based on a Japanese SCI-FI novel.

    Oblivion – space travel, aliens and technology.
    Edge of Tomorrow – time travel, technology and aliens.

    Not totally different, but not exactly the same.

    I like Sci-Fi – Stargate, Fringe, Battlestar, Inception, etc. and I saw Oblivion and enjoyed it.

    Also, saw Looper (Sci-fi) and thought Emily was awesome in it. I think she will bring the same type of strong, solid performance to Edge of Tomorrow too (at least based on the trailer).

  23. 23
    Trey Says:

    Cruise’s world is himself. He could never be a hands-on father. Thank goodness the best parent has her.

  24. 24
    Trey Says:

    Suri is more important than getting applause from millions of strangers your entire life.

    shia Says:

    So brilliant trailer! I love it!
