“Ya well Ryan Murphy, who is so amazing, he came to Kate [Hudson]‘s house and he said what do you want to do, whatever you want to do we’ll do. I said I have to go back to work. We have to do this is, they’re my family and what people also don’t understand is that going to work is no harder than being at home and being in the house and opening up a closet and seeing a pair of shoes,” Lea shared about working on Glee after Cory‘s death.

She added, “There’s this grief that goes with you everyday, whatever you’re doing. When there are great moments, [there are] hard moments so I’d rather, for me, be at work with the people who I love that are going through [it] and it obviously has it’s own triggers, but at the end of the day I feel so safe there. And like I said, they’re my family.”

FYI: Lea is wearing a Catherine Fulmer jacket.

opens up again, and again , and again, and again, and again, and again

  • get over it

@Beverly: This was her first tv interview. And why the hell can’t she talk aobut him if she wants to it is her choice not yours.

  • Jim

Nice job. She is going to be asked at some time so this was short and quick so not harm no foul.

  • Just Say No

corey’s death seems to have become her claim to fame. i feel bad the guy lost his life, but he was a drug addict. people talk about him as if he was a perfect saint.

  • Kelly

Nice of her to open up about her boyfriend’s death during the same interview she pimped out her new single and upcoming album. Disgusting.

  • FU

@Just Say No: Intelligence seems to have alluded you. Yes I guess 4 Bway plays, a hit tv show, a emmy nomination, 2 golden globe nominations, 2 People’s Choice awards were not indication of some level of fame and popularity.

  • So unkind

@Kelly: Oh please, she pushed her album back some already is she suppose to just scrap the album all together? Stop being a ha ter no matter when she first went out to promote any project she would be asked about it.

  • Lacey K.

She’s genuinely wonderful. It must steam the bitter trolls that she’ll continue to be successful, happy and loved and admired for being strong, inspirational, beautiful and so, so, sooo talented by millions of people around the world, no matter what hatefulness they’re pathetically small and worthless numbers try to hurl at her. Rooting for you always Lea.

  • Looselipz

She’s losing too much weight. With her face and not classically beautiful features it doesn’t look good.

  • living in a box

as expected!!! first the magazine cover, she open up about cory death, then the second magazine cover also opened up about cory death, then the cory’s glee tribute and she opened up about cory death. and now on ellen where she promote her new single and opened up about cory death. don’t worry we still have christmas, new year, valentine day, summer vacation, spring break.

  • Maddy

I’m sad for her. I couldn’t imagine losing someone close to me and having to always think about what could have been.

  • Melissa

Wow, I was never really a fan (just never got into Glee) but after this I have a lot of respect for her. I don’t think she’s talking about it too much, she’s answering the question she’s asked and I think getting it out of the way will help her heal and not have to be asked about it later. She seems so sweet and smart. Off to buy her single now!

  • Adam

@LaceyK She is genuinely wonderful??? That’s your opinion. Other people have their own opinions. Just because you like her doesn’t mean everyone else on Earth has to like her.
And just so you don’t get too diluded… millions of people around the world cannot stand her too.
I love Glee and I loved Cory but please – I wish she would stop using the “poor me. I’m a poor widow” act to sell albums, magazine covers etc. It’s disgusting. Also, why is constantly rubbing in the fact she is friends with Kate Hudson???

  • Adriana

I don’t know if i could say about my boyfriend that made my the luckiest girl in the world if the killed himself and left me alone…

  • fsdsssaa

@Just Say No: Her claim to fame is her run as a Broadway actress since she was a little girl and then a 5 year run on a tv show that for a year or so a pretty big deal. People are going to ask her about Cory’s death for a long time to come. That is totally out of her control.

  • pumpkin

    @Looselipz:
COCAIN. They all do it. Cory did it. Lea does it. Naya does it. Glee director Adam Shankman does it. He just ckecked into rehab.

  • ugh

    milk it baby

  • Shelly

Starting to look like a skeleton with bangs.

  • lauren

gezz some of you people are asses.

  • nice

I think she handled herself with grace and what she said was beautiful and respectful, people just looking for a motive to spread hate

  • ella

God bless her heart and may he rest in peace. Sometimes, real tragedies are meant to give you perspective on what matters in life. Love what you have…. and be kind.

  • ana

I dont believe her, she is using his death.

  • Erin

    @fsdsssaa:
Broadway is not her claim to fame as no one gives a damn about Broadway actors. How many Bway actors and actress do you know who are really famous without stepping out to do tv or film? Nobody knew who the hell she was until she started in Glee.

  • Ladyb

Sorry but she needs to stop talking.

  • Gloria

Not a fan of Leas, but i like the song and she was very sweet… as always Ellen was great, she has such a positive energy and she is so good at what she does.

  • Maia Gonzalez

I’m sorry to see the meanness of many people how they can even think that Lea Michele is using her late loved one’s death to promote her album and other negative thoughts about her…there is nothing insincere about her and I can see how much she deeply loved Cory…I cannot imagine the pain she has gone throughand I really admire her strength and courage to make a move to get on with her life..may she be reminded that as tragic as the ending was, she has lived through a life changing experience of meeting a soul mate and though they may have shared a short time together with all oif its challenges, I know in her heart she knows it was an experience that was worth it…

  • JJ

Everyone who is saying she is just using his death to further her career is just wrong. It seems more like you want attention and you feel hating on someone else will give it to you. Grow the F up. If I were asked a question about any of the people who have died in my life, I would probably answer it very similar to the way she did. She didn’t bring it up, she isn’t milking it. THEY ARE ASKING HER!!!! For crying out loud they are asking her the questions. It’s like when I went through a really bad breakup, people would ask me and I would tell them exactly where I was at with it. Didn’t mean I was “milking it”. You guys are just rude and inconsiderate. Sorry for the rant, but I mean come on, I bet all of you would have done the same thing if you were in her situation. So giver her a break.

  • Kellie

Wow! Lea is such a strong person! For opening up, for swallowing her tears and promoting her album.

  • B

She was wearing Cory’s necklace while performing “Cannonball”… The way she looks up and get emotional at the end… So powerful and beautiful! Proud of her!

  • anon.

a whole lot of you are such spiteful assholes. To try to take such a moment in order to throw around ideas of how “bad of a person Cory was” is downright disgusting. You’re missing the point of the things she’s saying, it’s no easy road and she’s been having to put a facade for the public because she’s hurting, hell, she STILL is. Now before you go bullying people, take a look at yourself and the person you are. Get a life!!!
