They’ve been talking about a sequel for years, and now its coming out 7 years after the original? I know the movie takes a long time to make, but you would’ve thought after the success of the first, they would’ve started production as soon as possible to capitalize on the hype… now it doesn’t seem as exciting, feels like the hype about the movie is long gone.

So now all the big box office draws are resorting to sequels.. not just a second sequel, but a third. Where are all the creative Hollywood innovators? Repeating the same thing over and over is getting stale and boring. I would love to see how people respond to the second one before they are force fed the third.

  • Ha

Yeah the sequel in 2016!? ARE THEY FVCKIN SERIOUS!?!?! Will people even remember the original movie!? Ugh. They should have done it a long time ago! I liked Avatar but it’s so 2009. Do they even realise how many YEARS passed by? The public won’t be the same. It’s a big challenge to take so much time to make a sequel. I hope it’ll be exceptional….. or it might just be a huge flop. I mean COME ON. I usually think 3 – 4 years is way too much space between two films ….

  • lmao

They’re planning on making three sequels? haha. SO as the first one will be out only in 2016, when can we expect the other two????? 2023 then 2030 and finally 2037? lol. Good. I was 19 when the first came out, and it doesn’t even intrigues me that much anymore. Interest flies with time, they should keep that in mind…. I hope they’re making the three sequels all at once right now and plan to release them all at once (I mean, three years in a row I guess? since it’s not possible to release two films from the same franchise the same year I guess lol) because otherwise I don’t think people will be as hyped up as they were back in 2009!

It’s just a sequel!! People won’t probably have to know what happened in the first one. It will be easy to follow.

Good Lord. Another $equel. Hollywood is just full of uncreative crap.

  • allison

Remember that joke Tina Fey said about Hollywood doing the same thing until people start hating it. Well here is a perfect example. 3 sequels of a movie that was not that great is a joke.

Hollywood must see the $$$$$$ The Hunger Games series is raking in. I think North American and European sales have almost reached a billion just for Hunger Games Catching Fire (the second book). Now that they see how they are breaking Hunger Games MockingJay (the third book) into two parts, they’re probably thinking they’d like to have a GO at it too.

The magic and the emotional trip the first movie (Avatar) took me on made this 60+ gentleman feel the awe and wonder portrayed by everyone from the goffer to the Actors and Production delivered on the wild ride it took us on left us all wanting more; every sequel tends to lessen what the original gave us, they tend to be more for cashing in on the original gave us(strike while the iron is hot so to speak.). Even the Harry Potter movies were magical but there was so much they could/should have built on and did not; the last two were so bad I hated to see them, I felt cheated because there was so much more they should have worked with and only sought to tie it up and end it knowing that all of us were addicted to the wonder instead of giving us much more they made it sinister and made the market share drop and it fan base dropped into the toilet (tanked). I see the first one being getting ready to fight off another encroachment by the company who originally built their compound and sought to terminate the populous, they should be working to secure the compound left and make it theirs to get ready for the real fight for dominance of their world. I could help with my idea’s but the initial letter sent to Ms. Rowling’s never was responded to. Everybody has their own idea’s and what they are willing to act on.
The Avatar franchise should be a thrilling endeavor to witness, I’m looking foreword to seeing it,

Read the IMDb entries of Saldana, Worhington, and Cameron. I’m convinced that getting a time that suits all three (not to mention the other key players) would have been a miracle to pull off.

I didn’t mind Avatar but James Cameron isn’t exactly a subtle storyteller. Great with bringing tech concepts to the screen.

  • Jim

    let it die, james cameron.

let your ego die a little as well.

  • Ugh

Blah. Should leave it on that one movie which was BLAH.

  • GOOP

    LANG — he died FCOL!!!!!!!!

Doesn’t anyone have an original creative idea in Hollywood anymore?
