Leonardo DiCaprio Reveals He Turned Down 'Hocus Pocus' Role
Leonardo DiCaprio suits up to attend a conversation and special screening celebrating his film The Wolf of Wall Street on Thursday (February 13) at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.
The screening was part of a five-film retrospective of Leo and Martin Scorsese‘s award winning collaboration.
Leo recently revealed that he turned down “more money than I ever dreamed of” to star in the film Hocus Pocus so that he could audition for the movie What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.
“I don’t know where the hell I got the nerve,” Leonardo told Variety. “You live in an environment where you’re influenced by people telling you to make a lot of money and strike while the iron’s hot. But if there’s one thing I’m very proud of, it’s being a young man who was sticking to my guns.”
