Michelle Williams Gets Raves for Broadway Debut in 'Cabaret'!

Michelle Williams hits the red carpet at the opening night party for her Broadway show Cabaret on Thursday evening (April 24) in New York City.

The 33-year-old actress was joined by her co-star Alan Cumming, 49, who is reprising the role that he won a Tony Award for nearly sixteen years ago in the last production of Cabaret on Broadway.

Here is a sampling of the rave reviews that Michelle is getting for her Broadway debut performance:

The New York Times: “Ms. Williams comes closer to evoking the musical style of the Depression than any Sally I’ve seen.”

Associated Press: “Michelle Williams makes her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles and she does an excellent job, playing both scared and daffy superbly and singing with real heart.”

USA Today: “It’s a star turn that, even in this rich season, is truly unmissable.”

FYI: Michelle is wearing a Louis Vuitton dress.

The reviews for her performance were actually very mixed. No tony for her.

# 2

she has only three or four reviews who are mixed, the others are very positive

# 3

They both look like crap.

# 4

For how long will she play the role? The whole time it is on??

# 5

Actually JJ, that NYT review is negative for M.W. Mila is right, she got very mixed reviews. The one EVERYONE raves about and the actual star of the show is Alan Cumming.
