First! Want to wish you and Angelina Congratulations and may God continue to bless you.

This is going to be interesting. If what I have read about what happens in this movie is true, I can imagine some people will not be happy, esp. those who see WWII as the last “good” war. But “War is all he ll” as Sherman said, and I respect Ayer for not shying away from unpleasant realities.

But this looks really good. I just hope Ayers’s direction is worthy of his cast. I believe the early word is that Logan and Brad are the standoust, but the whole group really brings it.

    Finally getting close!

I am hoping we will see on set pics soon.

Oh lol, once again, the aging hasbeen, formerly known as MTV’s Most Desirable male actor, trying desperately to hold on to fame, by using a body double, in an ensemble film no less. It figures he’d do that, because he’s surrounded by better looking actors who are in top shape, and don’t need lipos or girdles to disguise their frames.
    .
I can’t wait for this movie to bomb all over the place. He will be able to save face though, as he once again, is not the lead and is sharing top billing with others. LOL.

  • Anon2

Dang, looks like it is going to be a great movie! I want to see it, great cast.

OK. I must be missing something because this looks like exactly the same trailer that’s always been out. What’s different about it?

Mr. Benjamin Buttock-Futtock really has everything going against him. His early fame came from his looks and his high profile relationships, and now he has none of it. All of the comments you see on the net are about how he lost his looks and how the soul-sucking black magick-wielding witch must have had something to do with it. No wonder he drowns his sorrows in booze and drugs.
    .
The funniest part of it? To this day, Pitty still has no iconic role of his own! He remains the only actor to be famous for his PR persona instead of his body of work. And he expected to get the same kind of job offers that Depp, Downey or Clooney do? There’s a reason why he does ensemble films and they do mostly leading man roles. LOLOLOLOLOL.

  • Observer2

I can see why all the major studios were in a bidding war for this movie once Brad signed on. He’s known for doing quality movies.

He’s not Ticky for cripes sake that can’t find a distributor for her movies. LOL.

Nikki Finke regularly called out Variety and The Hollywood Reporter and other lazy reporters for their *** for tat relationship with studios and publicity agents. Her accusations against the very beholden publications were really driven home during the latest WGA strike when these publications and alleged reporters essentially took press releases from the studios and printed them as reporting.
    .
    +++++++++++++++++++
    .
Yeah, it’s a shame Finke’s going to take the Penske buyout and not be able to report on the entertainment industry for 10 years. She was the only one willing to point out how much Vareity and THR are the studio and publicists biitch. Even if she didn’t take the buyout there’s those people who are stalking her and threatening to “humiliate” her by “exposing” more about her because they think she’s a “bully” who’s “mean” to celebs and others in the industry to get info for her “Toldja” exclusives. I guess that’s more important to some people than exposing fraud, kickbacks and under-the-table deals.

‘I don’t think about Danny’s killers, I look to women for hope’
    ==================================================
    .
Written by Pritha Chatterjee | New Delhi | September 8, 2014 10:34 pm
    .
More than 12 years have passed since her husband and Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was brutally killed by militants in Pakistan. But Mariane Pearl says she no longer thinks about his killers. “Omar Sheikh and others are in my past. I don’t think about them. I look to ordinary women for hope, and to keep my hope in life and my work alive.”
    .
In New Delhi to deliver the First Ramnath Goenka Memorial Lecture after the presentation of the Excellence in Journalism awards on Tuesday, Pearl said that after Daniel’s murder, she went through an acute phase of disillusionment with the profession she and her husband had practised for years. To build hope, she began writing stories for women and found her calling.
    .
You can only fight terror with whatever they try to take away from you, which is hope and faith. I am not saying I have blind faith in mankind but I have the faith to let my son choose his profession.
    .
The managing editor of Chime for Change, a global journalism platform which highlights powerful stories about girls and women and the potential of individuals to bring change, Pearl began her career in France as a radio journalist covering immigration issues.
    .
She was writing for a French magazine when her husband was South Asia bureau chief of the WSJ. She wrote a memoir, A Mighty Heart, celebrating the values of humanism and dignity while offering a detailed account of the search for her husband in Pakistan. In 2007, it was released as a major motion picture starring Angelina Jolie as Mariane.
    .
Her second book, In Search of Hope, is a collection of profiles of extraordinary women around the world.
    .
“Danny and I lived and practised a very ideal version of journalism and we believed in that. But after his death when I became the news myself, I was struck by the heartlessness of journalists, and it was a bad phase of cynicism and doubt. Back then, I was saved by women.”
    .
Mariane, who was pregnant at the time of Daniel’s death, went to attend a forum of “mothers of 9/11″.
    .
“A group of 110 women who were pregnant at the time of 9/11 were brought together by a forum. Hearing them got me thinking. Soon after I travelled to 18 different countries, profiling women who had started with nothing and had still given hope to so many others around them.”
    .
She came across 16-year-old Julianne in Uganda who decided to become a doctor after her mother was diagnosed with AIDS, and then started a movement to stop African doctors from leaving the continent; in Colombia, she found 16-year-old Mayeili who started the first think tank of children in an atmosphere of violence; she also profiled the then president of Liberia — and all are stories In Search of Hope.
    .
“After I wrote about them, these women got help. Julianne got a Harvard scholarship, and Mayeili a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. So this effort helped cut down the contradiction between my ethics and journalism.”
    .
This time, she decided her son Adam’s godfather would be the Pakistani police officer who investigated her husband’s disappearance and killing. While Daniel’s killers are “in the past”, she does not think her view of the media has changed entirely. “The media forgets its role, and it forgets the story. In the case of James Foley (the American journalist executed last month by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), how can I be the story? Do they want me to be a spokesperson for the al-Qaeda on how it spreads terror?” What if son Adam, now 12, were to say he wants to be a journalist like Daniel? Would she let him? “You can only fight terror with whatever they try to take away from you, which is hope and faith. I am not saying I have blind faith in mankind but I have the faith to let my son choose his profession.”
    .
Adam, she said, was under a lot of pressure with “everyone trying to project their expectations of Danny” on him. “I took him to Spain four years ago. He knows everything that happened to his dad. I told him everything when he was seven years old. I talk to him a lot, but he should be his own man. Right now, he wants to be a designer.” She still finds it difficult to return to this part of the world.
    .
“I returned to Mumbai three years ago, but I avoided it until then. It was hard thinking of our house there. The memories come back, interviewing Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, getting eve teased on a beach… small memories.”
    .
The Ramnath Goenka memorial lecture — the first will be delivered by Pearl on Tuesday — is a forum of men and women from across the world who embody courage. Speaker is chief guest at RNG awards function Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will be the chief guest at the seventh edition of the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards function in New Delhi on Tuesday.
    .
She will present the awards for outstanding work done in 2011and 2012. The winners have been chosen by an eminent jury from nominations in 15 categories

    Man Crush Monday: Jack O’Connell
    =============================
    .
Posted on September 8, 2014 by Merna Jibrail
    .
Since appearing in the popular British teen drama Skins as the selfish, trouble-maker James Cook, Jack O’Connell is making his way onto being a huge star with roles in 300: Rise of an Empire and Starred Up, in which he received critical acclaim for his role as a violent teenage inmate. Coming to TIFF this year with the premiere of ‘71, O’Connell plays a rookie British soldier who finds himself separated from his unit and lost in an IRA-controlled territory.
    .
There’s no denying that this 24-year-old is poised to become the next big thing. Starring in Angelina Jolie’s highly-anticipated Unbroken that will be released later this year, he is definitely to be one to watch. But with all these big roles, what we love about O’Connel is how he’s still the sweet, hilarious and good looking lad that we fell in love with years ago. So making him the perfect Man Crush Monday for this week, here’s why we love him:
    .
    His role in Skins
    ——————————-
Yes, it’s true that his break out role was in Skins. And while we’re sure that O’Connell himself would like to move on to different roles, his character on the show, James Cook, was what really caught our eyes. Cook was undoubtedly one of the deeper characters on Skins, with O’Connell portraying him as a badass who only seemed to care very little about anyone else. He was funny and charming, but only when it served him best.
    .
That being said though, the series proves that Cook had insecurities just like everyone else. Proving in the end that he would do anything for his friends, he becomes the unlikely hero at the end of the show’s fourth season.
    .
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how the actor thinks of the character Cook, thanks to the Skins’ Official Youtube Channel.
    .
    He appreciates his fans
    ————————————————-
Very few celebrities share the kindness that Jack O’Connell has. He’s very genuine, down to earth and a really funny guy to talk to.
Here he is in 2009 when he appeared at a school in England while filming.
And during the 2013 Toronto’s International Film Festival, here he is meeting fans during the Starred Up red carpet. Although he was running late and had to start the screening, he continued to meet all the fans who were outside.
I mean, how can’t you love this guy?
    .
    He can dance
    ——————–
Granted, there isn’t much footage of him dancing aside from his character on Skins shaking his butt, we still consider him to be great dancer. He even mentions in this interview how he wants to play Elvis because he can do a great impersonation and dance!Make it happen, Hollywood!
    .
    He makes us LOL
Although Jack is mostly seen playing serious characters, he’s got a great sense of humour both on and off the screen.
I mean, look what he got her! LOL.
    .
    His Twitter
    —————–
Although he isn’t on many social media accounts, his tweets are always great:
The way to my heart is someone who knows their music, and he likes to share good music with his followers.
Overall, he’s just not like everyone else. While both doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge brings awareness and brings in a lot of donations, Jack stands up for another cause.
And BAM, just like that you’re in love with Jack O’Connell.

Juliette Lewis Recalls Her Very ’90s Relationship With Brad Pitt
    =====================================
    .
HuffPost Live | By Ryan Buxton Posted: 09/08/2014 1:37 pm EDT Updated: 25 minutes ago
    .
Juliette Lewis’ romance with Brad Pitt reminds her of a simpler time in Hollywood, she told HuffPost Live on Friday.
During a conversation about her new film “Kelly And Cal,” which is in theaters and available on iTunes now, host Ricky Camilleri asked about her relationship with Pitt, which lasted for four years. Lewis seemed to enjoy talking a walk down memory lane as she looked at snapshots of herself and Pitt as “’90s kids,” and one photo in particular made her think of the time before fashion was such a big part of Hollywood and people wore “ruffled prom dresses” to the Oscars.
    .
“This is what I love about all these photos,” Lewis said about the picture above. “I was wearing his shirt and some just random pants from my closet. What I love about that is there’s no styling.”
    .
Lewis briefly remarked on Pitt’s recent wedding to Angelina Jolie — “How awesome is that?” — but didn’t have much else to say about Pitt’s life today.
    .
“Whenever I get asked Brad questions, I’m like, ‘Do you want to talk about … my seventh-grade crush?’ Because that was my boyfriend too,” Lewis said.
    .
The actress has previously explained her confusion about the fascination surrounding her relationship with Pitt. She told The Daily Mail in 2010:
It amazes me that people are still fascinated that we went out for four years. I was a teenager at the time. It’s a lifetime away. I was in my high-school years and it was a wonderful, loving relationship with a fun, smart guy. Then it was over and he went on to become incredibly famous. The far more significant relationship was my marriage to an incredible pro skateboarder (Steve Berra). But no one wants to know about that. All these years on, there’s nothing I can say or divulge about Brad Pitt that would be remotely interesting to any intelligent being.

    .
Lewis also spent some time during the interview talking about another ’90s relic, “Natural Born Killers,” the film she made with Oliver Stone in 1994 that she said brought out her “masochistic” side.

Sony Releases New Trailer for Fury Starring Brad Pitt

    =======================================

.Trailer Tony Sokol 9/8/2014 at 2:01PM

    .
Sony Pictures released an inside peek into a tank called Fury in their new trailer.
    .
After a series of on the ground footage shot from the Tank Command’s POV, Brad Pitt tells his crew “I started this war killing Germans in Africa. Now I’m killing Germans in Germany” as he breaks in a new gunner, one who is replacing “the best gunner in the entire ninth army.”
    .
Now as a single crew takes on an entire platoon, it’s time for the new gunner to perform. That is, when he’s not seducing the locals with his palm readings. It’s the end of World War II and five U.S. soldiers are going up against 300 Nazis in a world overrun by refugees
    .
The official YouTube site explains “April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.”
    .
Brad Pitt stars as tank commander Wardaddy. Fury also stars Logan Lerman, Shia LaBeouf and Jon Bernthal from the Walking Dead and Mob City, play his crew.
Fury was directed by David Ayer, who made End of Watch and Training Day.
    Fury opens on Oct. 17.
