Why Did Ben Affleck Never Clash with 'Gone Girl' David Fincher?

Ben Affleck heads back to his car on the unusually cloudy Wednesday afternoon (December 3) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 42-year-old actor looked unprepared for the wet weather — probably because it barely ever rains in Los Angeles.

Recently, Gone Girl cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth revealed why director David Fincher and Ben never clashed on set.

“The beautiful irony in it is that he had won [the best picture Oscar for Argo] the previous year. But when this opportunity came up, he dropped everything and jumped on board and was a very, very avid student of David,” Jeff told The Hollywood Reporter. “He took full advantage of this opportunity and studied and watched and kind of went through the procedures with David.”

FYI: Ben is wearing Bally sneakers.

I’d hate to be in a movie with him. Rosamund Pike totally stole the show. She was the best thing in the movie, yet the media only talks about how great Affleck is. Just because he won an Oscar for directing, doesn’t make him a great actor.

Ben seems like he has a huge chip on his shoulders (maybe a poker chip…) but he is a better actor than Brad for sure. http://x.co/5xYM6

it’s not a bad looking matt black parker Ben’s wearing.
