Kate Bosworth Talks Feminism & Being a Step-Mom in 'Elle Canada' March 2015 Issue

Kate Bosworth shows her star power on the cover of Elle Canada‘s March 2015 issue, out on newsstands now!

Here’s what the 32-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On being a stepmom to her husband Michael Polish‘s 17-year-old daughter Jasper: “Watching her grow into a young woman, I’m reliving my own life. I’ve been struck by how that transition is a beautiful journey that can be challenging at times. Being a stepmom is one of the most important aspects of my life.”

On feminism: “I think the word ‘feminist’ should feel inclusive and be about equality rather than a tipped scale.”

On her career: “People talk about the transition that happens for child actors. There’s another transition that happens just around 30. I’m most excited about my career now because I can take what I’ve experienced and translate that into these roles.”

Ask her about her step-daughter and Kate’ll tell you about herself. It’s always about Kate.

I will give her credit for stepping deftly around the feminism question, however. Journalists need to stop asking this f*cking question.

  • Ashley

I initially thought the cover was Lindsay Lohan.

  • The Last Word

What is she even talking about? She’s such a twit. If she wasn’t a skinny blonde she wouldn’t have any kind of career.

  • Randall

Kate is unstoppable with yet another swank cover and FIVE new movies coming out, not to mention the excellent reviews for “Still Alice”! I am looking forward to Kate & Mike’s next movie “90 Minutes in Heaven.” I admire that they can “work & play” together so well. I just wish that they would tone down the comments about their relationship: #1 it’s never wise to publicly brag about your personal life and #2 it’s beginning to overshadow the great work they are doing together.

  • Solange L’Engle

This is one of my favorite covers! Kate looks beautiful and reminiscent of Julie Christie back in the Dr. Zhivago & Shampoo days.
@Randall: I don’t mind comments about her marriage. I’m sure she’s asked a lot about it in interviews and I find her answers interesting. It seems Michael and Kate (and Jasper) have a great relationship.
@pennydreadful2014:disqus: I don’t agree with you that journalists need to stop asking questions about feminism. It’s an important topic. I do agree Kate answered the question very nicely by complimenting Emma Watson (great speech btw) and stating feminist should be inclusive.
