Leonardo DiCaprio Drops Thousands at Charity Auction, Buys Bag For His Mom!

Leonardo DiCaprio hit up an auction for the Heart Fund Gala charity on Monday (May 18) at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and made a very generous bid!

The 40-year-old spent 10,000 euros ($13,620) for a gorgeous bag and told auctioneers it was a gift for his mother. Aw! Leonardo had some competition for the bag, apparently! Paris Hilton was also bidding, but obviously lost out.

“Paris was great. She bid on many things, and Leo did too,” a source told People. “Both her and Leo were so active during the entire auction. It was really nice to see.”

Leonardo “was laughing and enjoying himself with his friends” at the big event. Stay tuned for all the news from Cannes – the film festival still has a few more days left before wrapping up for the year.
