YouTuber Shane Dawson Comes Out as Bisexual in New Video

YouTube star Shane Dawson is coming out as bisexual in an emotional video he posted on his channel.

The 26-year-old internet personality has over 6.7 million followers on his YouTube account thanks to his comedy videos.

“I always wished that I was gay, that I was just 100 percent gay, for so many reasons,” Shane says in the video. “Number one, that means I would know who I was. Number two, it would be a lot easier for me to be accepted by people because, you know, I wear wigs and dresses on the Internet and I’m feminine, and you know, all these things. It would be so much easier to be like, ‘Yeah, I know I’m gay.’ But, I’m not. I’m not completely gay and I can’t sit here and say that I am ’cause that’s not real. That’s not genuine. But I also can’t sit here and say that I’m straight. This is something that I’ve come to the conclusion through therapy and also just being honest with myself.”

“I am bisexual,” Shane continues. “I have said it out loud once before, in therapy. I have never really talked about it until now, publicly. The reason I’m talking about it is because there’s a lot of coming out videos of people that are gay or lesbian, and they’re so confident and they’re like, you know, ‘I’ve known since I was 5,’ ‘I’ve always been gay’… I’m not that. I don’t know who I am 100 percent.”
