'Die Hard' Origin Story in Development, Bruce Willis In Talks to Return

A new Die Hard movie is in the works with Bruce Willis in talks to reprise his iconic role of John McClane!

The film will be an origin story of sorts, set in 1979 New York City, where we will learn how John McClane became the cop we see in Die Hard. This will leave the film open for Bruce to bookend the story, Deadline reports. No word who would play young John McClane.

Len Wiseman is in talks to direct — he directed 2007′s Live Free or Die Hard. Len is currently looking for a screenwriter to pen the script.
