Yolanda Hadid Defends Daughter Gigi Hadid Over Rebecca Romijn's Supermodel Comments

Gigi Hadid gets mega glam in a Julien MacDonald dress to celebrated her birthday at Intrigue Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas on Saturday night (April 30).

The 21-year-old model hosted another birthday party in Los Angeles with all her friends including Kendall Jenner just a few days before.

Earlier in the week, former model turned actress Rebecca Romijn commented on Gigi and Kendall‘s status as new supermodels, not thinking they truly are at all.

“No one has proven yet that numbers of followers translates to revenue, so it is frustrating,” Rebecca shared. “I know a lot of people – legitimate fashion people – can’t stand it. Hate it that these, you know, social media stars are now the supermodels in fashion. They are not true supermodels.”

Gigi‘s mom, Yolanda Hadid retaliated on Twitter, defending her daughter and Kendall.

“They accomplished more at half your age in the fashion industry. It’s THEIR hard work and daily commitment to their profession that got them where they R today #NoParentsInvolved,” Yolanda wrote.

FYI: Gigi is wearing Le Silla boots.
