Amy Schumer Issues Statement on Comedian Friend Kurt Metzger's Sexual Assault Comments

Amy Schumer has taken to Twitter to address fellow comedian Kurt Metzger‘s insensitive and controversial comments about women who have been sexually assaulted.

Kurt took to Twitter and Facebook to discuss rapes that were reported at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade theater in New York City.

“‘Why aren’t the rape kits being tested??’ Because instead of actually educating women with useful information on what to do if they are being victimized, you blather nonsense about ‘culture’ and then tell them being weak is being strong,” Kurt wrote on Facebook. “What exactly is a “rape apologist?” Is that like “cuck?” A meaningless word that the weak and stupid hurl at their superior to make his d*ck hard? Im kidding I already know it is. It’s my pleasure to upset you. Please call me both of those things. Im changing my profile to include them. I just want you to know how proud I am to be both a “cuck” and a “rape apologist!”"

“No I’m talking to silly bloggers and everyone who yelled guilty without even hearing A STORY … U don’t need even one detail to go on? Not a name or number of victims or what they say happened? U just hear ‘rape’ and it’s on?” Kurt tweeted at a blogger who wrote a story about his comments.

Amy responded by tweeting, “I am so saddened and disappointed in Kurt Metzger. He is my friend and a great writer and I couldn’t be more against his recent actions.”

Later, Amy added, to clear up, “Kurt does not work for me. He is not a writer on my show. Please stop asking me about it. His words are not mine.” Kurt does have writing and acting credits on Inside Amy Schumer as of 2016.
