Jared Leto Loses Lawsuit Against TMZ Over Stolen Video Critiquing Taylor Swift

Jared Leto has lost the lawsuit he filed against TMZ and Warner Bros. after a video was posted on the website showing footage of him critiquing Taylor Swift‘s 1989 album last year.

The 44-year-old actor and musician asserted a copyright infringement claim and said that he had hired a videographer to shoot the private footage, which was then sold to TMZ.

TMZ argued that Jared had never owned the video and they had been granted a license to use it by the videographer.

The judge ruled that the video was not made as a work-made-for-hire for Jared and his company as the videographer wasn’t an employee and there was no written agreement about ownership.
