Did Madonna Respond to Lady Gaga's Subtle Shade?

Lady Gaga and Madonna have seemingly had an ongoing music-related feud for a few years now, ever since 2011 when critics claimed that Gaga‘s “Born This Way” sounded a lot like Madonna‘s “Express Yourself,” to which Gaga dismissed as “ridiculous.”

In 2015, the “Like a Virgin” singer appeared to confirm that she agreed with the critics about the similarities.

During a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1 Radio, the “Perfect Illusion” singer had some more thoughts about the Madonna comparisons.

“Madonna and I are very different,” Gaga told the host. “I wouldn’t make that comparison at all. I don’t mean to disrespect Madonna … she’s a nice lady, and she’s had a fantastic, huge career. She’s the biggest pop star of all time…But I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I’m a producer. I’m a writer. What I do is different.”

Madonna then allegedly took to social media to post a meme of Hillary Clinton wearing dark shades and checking her phone with the text, “Can’t hear you. Too busy being awesome,” according to E! News. She also reportedly captioned it, “Like a boss! LOL,” though it seems that the original post has since been deleted.
