Alessia Cara Reveals the Best Advice Coldplay's Chris Martin Has Given Her

Alessia Cara belts out some of her hits while performing at the Alessia Cara Event at The Grammy Museum on Thursday (November 17) in Los Angeles.

During her intimate acoustic set, the 20-year-old singer performed “I’m Yours,” “Wild Things,” “River of Tears,” “Scars to Your Beautiful,” and “Here.”

Before her performance, Alessia sat down with with moderator Scott Goldman, vice president of the Grammy Foundation, for a Q&A.

Alessia dished on some of the best advice she received from Coldplay singer Chris Martin while opening for the band on tour.

Chris basically said, ‘The crowd always gives you what you give them, so if you give them all your energy and all your love and you connect with them as much as possible easily they’ll give that back to you. It’s like a conversation,’” she told the crowd.

“When you have an opening slot, that’s a lot harder because oftentimes you just think, ‘All right, let’s get to the real stuff,’ Alessia added. “Everyone was actually very receptive in a great way. The whole audience, like, every place we went to, from Europe to the U.S., they really embraced us and the music and it was really nice to see that. It was a mature audience.”
