Baz Luhrmann walks the red carpet with his wife Catherine Martin at the 2019 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 6) in New York City.

The 56-year-old filmmaker is often the person in charge of the performances at the Met Gala. If you watched the documentary The First Monday in May, you might remember him working with Rihanna for her performance that year.

Baz‘s beloved movie Moulin Rouge is coming to Broadway this summer as a brand new musical that has been updated for 2019.
