Awkwafina Uses This Celebrity's Name at Starbucks Instead of Her Own!

Awkwafina likes to throw off baristas when she goes to Starbucks!

In an interview with Vogue‘s “73 Questions,” the 30-year-old Crazy Rich Asians star opened up about where she came up with her unique stage name.

“When I was 15 or 16, I thought the name ‘Awkwafina’ was great, hilarious. I never thought anyone would ever call me that,” Awkwafina shares, whose real name is Nora Lum. “Cut to now, where everyone calls me that. So that’s good.”

But when she goes to Starbucks, Awkwafina likes to use a different celebrity’s name when she places her order.

“I like putting ‘Michelle Pfeiffer’,” Awkwafina joked. “All ‘F’s in the ‘Pfeiffer’… throws them off a little bit.”
