Taylor Swift's First Day Sales Figures for 'Lover' Revealed

Taylor Swift has already earned the top selling week for an album in 2019 after one day of sales for her seventh studio album Lover!

The album sold around 450,000 copies on August 23, its first day of release, according to Billboard. This number does not include streaming numbers.

The previous top sales week for 2019 was the Jonas Brothers‘ album Happiness Begins, which sold 357,000 copies in its first week.

Lover already has the biggest sales week for an album since Taylor‘s previous album reputation, which sold 1.216 million copies in its first week back in late 2017.

While these numbers are purely estimates at this point, Billboard says that industry forecasters predict that the album will sell 550,000 copies in its first week and streaming numbers will push it to 700,000 equivalent album units for the first week.
