Queen Elizabeth Once Slapped Her Nephew at a Party, Elton John Says
Elton John is alleging he once saw Queen Elizabeth slap her nephew Viscount Linley, the son of her sister Princess Margaret, across the face.
An excerpt from Elton‘s new memoir, “Me,” was published in the Sunday Times where it details that the Queen, 93, had asked her nephew to check in on his sister, Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones, who had fallen ill during a party.
Elton wrote, “When he [Linley] repeatedly tried to fob her off, the Queen lightly slapped him across the face, saying ‘Don’t’ — slap — ‘argue’ — slap — ‘with’ — slap — ‘me’ — slap — ‘I’ — slap — ‘am’ — slap — ‘THE QUEEN!’”
“I know the Queen’s public image isn’t exactly one of wild frivolity, but…in private she could be hilarious,” Elton wrote, adding that she winked at him when she saw that he saw her slapping her nephew.
We often find out information about the Queen through other people – including why she has never told the public her favorite food.
