Greta Gerwig Says Mariska Hargitay Helped Her Through Her Pregnancy!
Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach made a rare joint appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday night (January 23) to dish about their Oscar nominated films!
Also during their appearance, the 36-year-old filmmaker and actress admitted that Mariska Hargitay played an unexpected role in helping her through her pregnancy with their 10-month-old son Harold, who they welcomed last year.
“I was doing these guided meditations,” Greta recalled. “And they always say, like, ‘Imagine something really comforting,’ or whatever. And I think you’re supposed to imagine a beach, but I’d always imagine Mariska Hargitay’s face. Because I find her so comforting. So, she’s very much a part of my baby’s life without knowing it.”
“And I think that’s why my baby is so happy…,” Greta continued. “Because she’s very strong and compassionate and non-judgmental, like, I feel that my baby felt her love.”
Greta and Noah also recapped the morning both of their films, Little Women and Marriage Story, received a slew of 2020 Oscars nominations.
That same evening, Noah and Greta attended the Writers Guild Of America West’s Beyond Words 2020 event at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills.
