'FBI: Most Wanted' Crew Member Has Coronavirus, Director is 'Furious'

An FBI: Most Wanted crew member has tested positive for coronavirus.

The person’s identity has not been disclosed for medical confidentiality reasons, Variety reports.

The cast and crew were officially notified on Thursday morning (March 19) through an email memo from NBCUniversal’s Universal Television. Some are reportedly upset that they were not given this information earlier.

According the memo (dated Wednesday), the person received a positive diagnosis on Wednesday, March 18. They had not been on set since Wednesday, March 11, and “had already recovered from a mild case by the time the test results came back today.”

Production was shut down after March 12.

“We consulted with medical experts who have informed us that the risk level of transmission is low given that the employee did not return to work after becoming symptomatic,” the Universal TV memo reads. “Even with low risk assessment, out of an abundance of caution, we took the step of identifying and reaching out to the handful of employees who had been in close proximity to the affected individual on their last day at the office.”

Director Lexi Alexander said NBCU contacted her on Wednesday, as she was one of the six to 10 people the studio thought the diagnosed person had had contact with.

“Even if they just had a suspicion why didn’t they tell us before we all flew home?” Lexi told the outlet. “If they would’ve told there us there was a suspicion, I would’ve isolated myself.” She added that on the last day of production, she was in contact with 80 to 90 people on set.

NBCU has reportedly given the cast and crew hotline to a clinical support partner and urged them them to contact their own medical providers if they feel sick, adding that its goal is “to keep you informed without creating unnecessary panic.”
