Emmy Awards 2020 Will Still Happen on September 20, But Format Is Still Unknown

The 2020 Emmy Awards have been scheduled to take place on September 20 and the Television Academy still plans on keeping the show on that date.

It’s currently unknown how the show is going to be presented, but it seems the show will still go on in some sort of format.

ABC is airing the Emmys this year and network exec Rob Mills told Variety that there’s no update on the telecast yet, “other than they’re going to happen in some way shape or form, but we have a little bit of time. Because we have the benefit of time, it’s much easier to figure it out. I don’t know what they’ll look like, but they will happen.”

“The Emmys are still going to happen,” Mills said, “But we still don’t know what they’re going to look like because we just don’t know where the winds are going to blow in the next few months.”

The nominations announcement has already been pushed back by two weeks to July 28.
