Meghan Markle Reaches Out To Althea Bernstein, Who Was The Target of a Hate Crime

Meghan Markle made a very important phone call over the weekend to Althea Bernstein.

If you don’t know, Althea was the target of a hate crime by a group of white men, who doused her with lighter fluid and set her on fire in Wisconsin last week.

According to Channel 3000, the Duchess of Sussex, along with her husband, Prince Harry, made special call to Althea to offer their support.

“Her and Meghan talked about the importance of self care and allowing herself to heal,” Michael Johnson, president of the Boys & Girls Club of Dane Country, said. “And she applauded her for the way that she responded and pretty much said, ‘Hey Michael, give me her cell phone number. I want to stay in touch. And let me know when you want me to come back and talk to people in Wisconsin.”

He added that Althea was “moved” by the conversation with Meghan and Harry.

“She’s struggling,” Michael says.. “It’s a challenge for her, it’s very, very emotional. I talked to her three or four times today, and I’ll tell you Meghan lifted her spirits.”

In addition, Michael also shared a tweet about speaking with the Sussexes.

“On the phone with Prince Harry and Meghan Markel the Duchess of Sussex. Prince Harry shared that young people voices matter and Meghan has agreed to talk with girls in Wisconsin and we will be scheduling that soon. Thank you for caring!” he wrote.

Recently, Meghan and Harry have been quietly supporting Black Lives Matters organizations.
