Katy Perry Releases the Song She's Most Excited for Her Daughter to Hear, 'What Makes a Woman' - Listen

Katy Perry is back with another serving of her Smile!

The “Smile” singer released a new song from her upcoming album, “What Makes a Woman,” on Thursday (August 20).

The track was produced by Johan Carlsson, and co-produced by Elvira Anderfjärd, and there’s also a performance video directed by Tim Sekiguchi alongside her band.

“The last song on my record coming out August 28th, is a song called ‘What Makes a Woman’ and, you know, it’s a song about how you are going to have a tough time measuring what truly makes a woman because women are so many things,” she explained in a previous interview, saying it was the song she’s excited for her daughter to hear.

“I like to say not one thing, not just one thing. And such chameleons, and so adaptable, and so malleable and transformative and can handle the weight of the world on their backs and do it all in heels and make it look pretty effortless sometimes.”

Smile will be released on August 28.
