The 25-year-old actress gave a speech at the event, which was co-hosted by Patricia Arquette and Marc Benioff. There were performances from such stars as Stevie Wonder and India.Arie!

Other celebs in attendance included Reese Witherspoon, Lily Tomlin, Marisa Tomei, Minka Kelly, Petra Nemcova, David Blaine, James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly, and Hayley Kiyoko.

Zendaya and Amber Riley kill it on the carpet as they arrive at the 2016 Essence Black Women In Hollywood Awards Luncheon held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Thursday (February 25) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The two actresses were joined by Serayah, Keke Palmer and How To Get Away With Murder‘s Aja Naomi King inside the annual event.

Zendaya recently opened up about bringing New York Giants wide receiver, Odell Beckham, Jr. to a Grammy party earlier in the month and dating rumors.

“Here’s the thing, a couple of things, first of all it wasn’t really a date,” she explained. “We went to some events together, because we’re friends. We were with a group, we were with multiple people. I was with my stylist and everything like that.”

Zendaya added, “Even if it does progress, you gotta go through my dad first,. Just because you’re in the NFL, you killin’ stuff, that doesn’t mean you get to skip past pops. He’s not going to allow that to happen…He’s auditioning! Auditioning.”

Chris Rock suits up while walking the carpet at the 2016 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards Luncheon on Thursday afternoon (February 25) at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 51-year-old comedian will be hosting the Oscars this weekend and he was joined at the event by such stars as Thandie Newton and Kelly Rowland.

Justin and his business partner Ahmed Musiol just launched a content creation studio, Wayfarer, which focuses on inspiring the millennial market, Generation Z, and more, as well as pushing female empowerment.

“We care deeply about the advancement of women, and we’re focused on finding projects in the marketplace that embody that goal,” Justin said. “Until women are truly equal in all aspects of life, men are going to be held back as well. It’s deeply important to us.”
