Ryan Gosling gives his star Christina Hendricks some direction while filming some scenes for their new movie How to Catch a Monster late Wednesday night (June 5) in Detroit, Mich.

The 32-year-old actor has been in the Detroit area for the past month while working on his directorial debut and the radio station 95.5 Mojo took advantage of his presence in town to prank fans in the area with the help of a Ryan lookalike!

Watch below as the imposter, disguised in a hoodie and sunglasses, poses with fans thinking it’s the real Ryan Gosling.

Here’s what the 38-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On Ryan Gosling, her How to Catch a Monster director: “People respond to him strongly because he’s so nice and so talented…handsome.”

On struggling in Hollywood: “I was crying before I went in [to her Mad Men audition] I was just so desperate. I was like, ‘I’m not going to get this,’ and my friend said, ‘It’s your role.’”

On dressing for her husband: “At home, I put on a low-cut caftan, and he’s like, ‘Babe, you look great.’”

The 32-year-old actor’s girlfriend Eva Mendes is starring in the film alongside his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks. They were both spotted on set that day as well!

How to Catch a Monster, which is also written by Ryan, is about a single mother (Hendricks) who is swept into a dark underworld, while her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town.
