Bob Odenkirk's 'Better Call Saul' Will Not Have Breaking Bad's Walt & Jesse in First Season

Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks speak to the audience during the Better Call Saul panel at the AMC portion of the 2015 TCA Press Tour at the Langham Hotel on Saturday (January 10) in Pasadena, Calif.

During the panel, the show’s team addressed rumors about famed Breaking Bad characters Walt and Jesse making an appearance on the spinoff show.

“Walt and Jesse will not appear in season one. We really want this to stand on it’s own, not saying it’s never going to happen, ” co-showrunner Peter Gould shared.

Co-showrunner Vince Gilligan added, “Our intention and our hope is that it will feel proper and organic. If it feels like a stunt, then we in the writer’s room will feel like we have done something wrong.”

Check out a new extended trailer below for the show, which will premiere on Sunday, February 8 and Monday, February 9 at 10/9c on AMC.
