Glee will be making a big switch for the remainder of its fifth season and the storyline will be moving to New York City!
During Fox’s panel at the 2014 Winter TCA Press Tour, Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said that the second half of the season will be “exclusively” in New York and some of the McKinley High students will graduate this season.
“Some are going to be graduating and moving; creatively, it would be ridiculous that everybody moves to New York,” Kevin said (via THR), but wouldn’t specify which characters will make the move. “There will be some that will graduate and move on and they’ll arc back in when we do special episodes. They’ll always be a part of it. The way it’s going to dovetail next season, we’ll see some familiar faces coming around in some capacity. But for this season, there will be a graduation, several of the cast members will move on and a few others will go to New York.”
Jane Lynch‘s character Sue Sylvester will likely make the move because “as long as there’s a show, there’s Jane,” he said.
It is unclear when exactly the Ohio storyline will be completely wrapped up as we still have the Nationals episode to air and most likely a graduation episode.
