Judd Apatow Gets Support from Kathy Griffin & Bob Saget at 'Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling' Documentary Premiere!

Judd Apatow is dapper as he poses alongside his pal Bob Saget at the premiere screening for HBO’s The Zen Diaries Of Garry Shandling held at Avalon on Wednesday (March 14) in Hollywood, Calif.

The 50-year-old writer-director-producer was also joined at the event by Kathy Griffin, Jon Lovitz, Vanessa Bayer, Wallace Langham, Mike Judge and Martin Starr.

“I didn’t realize that he had chosen really consciously to be a mentor,” Judd told Variety. “I knew he was available to people and he was really kind and if you said, ‘Will you read my script?’ he would give you notes. But he wrote in his journals that he wanted to help people and he thought that was the win in life, to help people. I was able to get an enormous amount of footage from different people and then I realized ‘Oh, this would make a great Bob Dylan-type two-part documentary’ so we spent about a year searching for footage and just watching footage and then a year editing it.”

The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling is a two-part documentary on the life of the late comedian that features conversations with more than 40 of Shandling’s family and friends – Watch the trailer below!

'Silicon Valley' Cast Is Divided Between Snapchat & Instagram!

We are not alone! HBO’s Silicon Valley cast is also struggling between two social messaging platforms – Snapchat or Instagram Stories?

“To be honest, just because I’m too lazy I don’t want to build another set of followers on another app somewhere, I just save my Snapchat videos and put them on Instagram so I’m robbing them of their goods,” Thomas Middleditch, who plays Richard Hendricks on the show, told Mashable.

“I’m a big consumer of Instagram and so I was on Snapchat for awhile but, again, once they brought in Insta story I was like, ‘Well, why the f*ck do I need to use Snapchat anymore?’,” Amanda Crew, who plays the level-headed character Monica, added.

“I’m having this weird micro-crisis about social media in general I think this year,” Thomas, 35, continued. “Sometime around November it starts to feel like, ‘Oh this started out as fun thing but now it’s like it’s being used against us,’ all of our information aggregated and targeted and sectioned off.”

Pictured: Thomas and Amanda joining co-stars Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani and Martin Starr, as well as co-creator Mike Judge, executive producers Clay Tarver and Alec Berg at the season four world premiere of Silicon Valley on Tuesday (April 11) in San Francisco, Calif.

'Silicon Valley' Cast Gets Individual Covers for 'Wired' Mag

Thomas Middleditch reads a copy of Wired magazine featuring his Silicon Valley cast members on the cover for his own individual cover of the mag, on newsstands March 28.

Other cast members on the cover are TJ Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, and Martin Starr. Here is what they shared with the mag:

TJ on the new comedy economy: “Most of our friends who are successful in comedy are the ones working in at least three different disciplines. The best way to become a successful comedian in our day and age is to become the most well-rounded comedian, with the strongest and deepest skill set.”

Martin on being offered Silicon Valley: “I knew that it was a great possibility that this show will not be as appreciated as perhaps we feel it deserves to be. You know that everything’s fleeting, everything’s passing.”

Zach on the new comedy economy: “Maybe you don’t get fat and happy and complacent, and you don’t buy a bunch of catamarans. But in return you get to do your weirdo ideas with your friends, as opposed to some sitcom that you sleepwalk through.”
