Diane Kruger Names Peter O'Toole as Meanest Actor She's Worked With

Diane Kruger played the role of Helen in the 2004 epic movie Troy and she says that her co-star Peter O’Toole is the meanest actor she has ever worked with.

“You know who wasn’t very pleasant, was Peter O’Toole,” the 39-year-old actress said while being interviewed by her Sky co-star Norman Reedus for Buzzfeed.

“It kind of sucked. He’s dead, so I can say that. But he wasn’t the most pleasant person,” Diane added. “He was just a drunk, and Peter O’Toole. You know, he had a two-day part, and I played Helen of Troy and he was Peter O’Toole, and he just wanted to make sure that everybody knew that he was Peter O’Toole. And he could barely make it up the stairs. We were on a set that was – you know, you have to climb, like, I don’t know, 100 steps to go up.”

“He was just – first of all, everybody thought he was gonna die right there and then. Because it was, you know, 120 degrees, and he had to walk up 100 stairs. And he was very old, and very drunk,” Diane continued.

Peter passed away in December 2013 at the age of 81.

Peter O'Toole Dead - 'Lawrence of Arabia' Star Dies at 81

Peter O’Toole has died at the age of 81, his agent tells the BBC.

The actor is most known for his starring role in the film Lawrence of Arabia, which earned him his first Oscar nomination of a career total of eight! He never won an Academy Award for an acting performance, but he received an honorary Oscar in 2003.

Peter recently finished work on the historical film Katherine of Alexandria, which is set to be released in 2014 and he was announced to star alongside Ben Kingsley in the biopic Mary.

“His family are very appreciative and completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of real love and affection being expressed towards him, and to us, during this unhappy time,” his daughter Kate said in a statement. “Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts. In due course there will be a memorial filled with song and good cheer, as he would have wished.”

We send out our condolences to Peter‘s friends and family during this difficult time.
