'Taken 2' Tops Weekend Box Office

Taken 2 remains top dog at this weekend’s box office, taking the number one slot for the second week in a row.

The Liam Neeson action flick brought in an additional $22.5 million this weekend, bringing its domestic total $86.8 million, according to THR.

The Ben Affleck film Argo came in a close second with $20.1 million. Ben wrote and directed the movie, which is getting rave reviews from critics and fans alike.

Scary flick Sinister came in third with $18.3 million.

Rounding out the top five were Hotel Transylvania and Kevin James and Salma Hayek‘s Here Comes the Boom, which brought in $17.3 million and $12 million, respectively.

The Colin Farrell flick Seven Psychopaths, which played at only 1,480 locations, grossed $4.3 million, bringing it in at number nine.

Taken 2 has stolen the top slot at this weekend’s box office!

The Liam Neeson action sequel took in $50 million domestically, nearly doubling it’s 2009 counterpart, according to THR! Worldwide, the film grossed approximately $105 million. Wow! The movie also boasts the best October PG-13 film opening of all time.

Hotel Transylvania came in second place this weekend with an estimated $26.3 million.

Fan favorite film Pitch Perfect, starring Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick, and Rebel Wilson, placed third with $14.7 million.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s thriller Looper came in at number four with $11.8 million.
