'The Conjuring 2' Wins Weekend Box Office With $40 Million!

The Conjuring 2 debuted huge with $40.4 million, making it this weekend’s top movie!

According to THR, the film, starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, is the largest horror opening since the first Conjuring movie in July 2013.

Coming in at No. 2 was Warcraft, starring Travis Fimmel and Paula Patton, which debuted to $24.4 million.

Taking the third spot was the star-studded sequel Now You See Me 2 with a solid $23 million from 3,232 theaters.

Rounding out the top five were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and X-Men: Apocalypse, which grossed $14.8 million and $10 million, respectively.
