Charlize Theron had to gain 35 pounds for a new movie role and she is joking about how she is “very fat right now.”

The 41-year-old Oscar-winning actress attended the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles on Thursday night (October 27) in a flowy dress and a blazer on top.

Chelsea Handler made a joke on stage about her weight gain and she responded by saying, “Yes, I am very fat right now,” according to E! News.

In the upcoming comedy Tully, Charlize will be playing a mom who just gave birth to her third child and gets the help from a nanny.
